I used to be very involved with Qemu. I think you know about its development and that I was the one who initially pushed this project forward with Balaton. Back then, Qemu was completely unusable... until I reported bugs about Pixman and Co to the Qemu developers, and from then on, things ran much better. Even AmigaOS 4.1 bugs were found as a result: 16-bit software bugs SDL2/16bit Software Rendering for example (Milkytracker) and Pegasos2 kernel problems.
There is a huge thread on Amiga-News about how it all began with Qemu. Of course, Balaton has done an absolutely fantastic job here and continues to do so.
What I actually wanted to say is that the Virtio GPU driver has been in development for over two years. I already asked Hans and AmigaKit for beta access so that I could test this driver properly, but my emails have remained unanswered to this day.
And Balaton, who developed the whole thing for us free of charge, deserves such a beta driver for the recognition and further development of his work on Qemu. But maybe that has already happened in the meantime.
If this driver is released one day, that's great, but I'm not asking for it anymore, as it's no longer a priority for me at the moment due to my real machine.

I did reply, but could only point you to Matthew. I'm under strict instructions that only A-EON beta testers can have access to the beta VirtioGPU drivers. So I've referred everyone who asked to test it to Matthew (including you).
Unfortunately, the A600GS/A1200NG project seems to consume all of Matthew's attention these days.
@all
The decision on when and how to release the driver is up to A-EON. If it were mine, the a pre-release would have been out ages ago.
Clearly, real hardware is always better. Even for a simple 68k+Vampire, even if WinUAE is clearly superior.
You made the right choice in buying the X5000, and as I said, I'm very happy for you. In life, there are empathetic people and others who aren't. I'm happy when someone else is happy. It's part of who I am.
As I said, I don't consider the cost of hardware tied to the bundled software (so for me, not buying it is a question of software, not hardware).
As I said, 600-700 euros would be a reasonable price for me. But the price is higher, so I'm not buying it.
I was thinking about getting the new Ryzen with a motherboard and adequate memory.
But in the end, I'd be wasting money. I'm keeping the 5800x with 48GB of RAM, and the 4060 since I have a 1080p AOC monitor is more than enough; basically everything runs fine.
The PS5 is stuck there, there's nothing. I bought it for GTA6, but that was delayed to 2026.
Obviously, I haven't given up on qemu, but I haven't had time lately. I think I figured out the problem using @Walkero's program. I took a look at the configuration it creates in the .log.
But if the Virtio-GPU driver is fine, why not buy the entire Enhancer Software 2.3 package?
Of course, trying the beta would be nice.
I remind you that with WinUAE, I've done everything with 4.1, absolutely everything. The only limitation was not having a graphics driver for 4.1.
So I would have liked to try it and test it.
I imagine it's a bit like Morphos X64, not exactly the same, but the example is valid. In the case of Morphos, it would take someone to fund the project. But this is just my personal opinion.
Maybe a machine with a Virtio GPU will be available for pre-order.
But that's business, and I understand that in life, you need money to make a living.
And you have no idea how much money I spent on my wife's illness (a lot).
This is just the market, not a controversy
Have fun with the X5000

I purchased Kyvos yesterday. I own an AmigaOne X5000/40 but also plan to use AmigaOS4.1 on Q-Emu on my MacBook Air just to have a mobile system in addition. Kyvos seems to be a good solution for Q-Emu noobs like me. I have to find time for the installation but when I am done I am happy to give feedback.
Clearly each user would add their own group assigned to a real Radeon GPU.
I had a €20 Amazon voucher, and since I didn't buy Metal Gear Solid SNAKE EATER for PS5, I got a 1TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 PCI SSD for just €70. So today I'm trying again with the real GPU
Hoping for a date to be determined for the Virtio GPU.

@white I will have a look, but you do not need to wait for this to happen. You can add it right now. Please check the section "Editing the config files" in the manual of how to do it.
## 1.2.0 [2025-08-09] ### Added - Added the advanced creation form - Added VMs' protection from deletion feature - Added support for running MorphOS on an emulated Pegasos2 - Added support for running Aros i386 and x86-64 - Added support for running AmigaOS 4 on an emulated Sam 460ex - Added SMB path to be accessed using Samba
### Updated - Updated the manual with new sections describing the two different methods to create a virtual system, information on how to set up an AROS system, and some generic guidelines how to share a folder with samba in different operating systems. Also, I added more information in the FAQ section.
### Fixed - Fixed a bug with the system icons in list, that was checking the given name instead of the system name. That made MorphOS systems to show AmigaOS 4 icon because they didn't include the OS name in the given name - Fixed an app crash when selected a VM that doesn't have a config file in the expected folder
Hope you like the new version. Let me know of any issues.
I'm making a mistake with manually creating kickstart.zip. That was the reason. For example, if I use my line with the HDD created with Kyvos, it doesn't work. It tells me it can't find SLBv2, and even if I fix that, it still doesn't find the subsequent modules.
I need to find the patience to fix these errors a bit.

@Maijestro Your paths are invalid. What are those triple dots (/.../)? I tested it on MacOS x86 and works fine. How did you install the 7z? I recommend to use brew and install the p7zip as mentioned in the guide.

As Balaton already wrote (...) it normally contains my user name under MacOs.
After installing p7zip via Homebrew, it still cannot be found here either. Perhaps a path problem under MacOs Sequoia 15.1?
I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm using MacOs ARM/M1.

First of all, thank you for granting my request to include AROS 32Bit and AROS 63Bit on Kyvos!
I have successfully tested my two AROS One 32/64Bit distributions, and no problems were encountered. AROS systems are very fast with QEmu, but it is unfortunate that only VESA mode is supported and not native mode.
For the next version, could you kindly add 6GB of RAM as well (I added 6GB manually in the test.)? AROS 64Bit requires a minimum of 5GB of RAM to run 64bit applications correctly, but those who only have 8GB on their system can only add 6GB, thank you.
On Windows 7 64-bit, I found that 7-zip is detected correctly, but a red diamond appears in the second request. However, Kyvos worked perfectly (I did not test OS4 because I do not have the required CDs).
@Maijestro I am sorry I didn't reply earlier. Today I released a couple of bug-fix versions. The latest version is 1.2.2, which I believe it has a fix for the issue you have with 7z. Can you please download and test it?
