But is the Amiga version of OpenGL-ES open source?
Or is it tied to A-Eon?

Seems pretty unlikely Daniel would travel off and make a new version on his own.

News Release regarding the OpenGL-ES v4 Library is now here:

In general I'm all for supporting further development. What I need is more information an this particular proposal. I realize this is a graphics API, but what I don't understand is what the potential of having this update would be. Would it allow for potential speedup of some current games? What new software/games might this enable developers to port? Would this potentially enable a later versions of blender to be ported?

More info on what the potential of having this available would be helpful. Maybe developers could supply some ideas? More info please.

If us AmigaOS4 users don't support new development where we can, then it will definitely not progress.

Mattew as always will not answer on questions we ask, and can be better if Daniel can clarify it all, but if it mean that Mattew ask for just next ogles2 v3.4 version, then you all should know there is nothing ground breaking can be, but only some few bugs ifxed.

Current ogles2 v3.3 already do it's job, there nothing new probably can be done in v3.4 in terms of speed improvements, because it's probabaly agian hits it's limits because of radeon drivers and warp3dnova itself, without updating which we can't move much futher with speed in ogles2.

It's _not_ that you will have now new library which will support opengles3.0 standard. It's the same ogles2 which we all use now with v3.3. v3.4 is probably will be only bugfixes which we found in last years, but then, if so, do not expect it's something ground breaking. Mattew as always make it looks like something "big", but "big" there can be only new opengl3.library, or ogles3.library, i.e. support it as next standard, which can't be done without improving Radeon drivers and Warp3DNova.

So don't be fooled there. v3.4 in no way will anyhow help to port new games in compare with what v3.3 gives already. Just some bugs fixed which we find in last years which by itself nothing very important.

Improtant there can be only raised FPS MUCH (which probably can't be done because of current radeonrx drivers), and supporting new standards like opengl3.x . Which also out of question imho too, so .. If that all as i understand it , it mean Mattew ask you for just casual bug-fix.

I can say you all as developer, the thing which we miss next it's support of OpenGL3.x and OpenGL4.x, that all. Public ogles2 v3.3 already cover all the needs, and i do not know what v3.4 can do if not only bug fixes. But maybe Daniel plan something else there ?
