I was able to set up one of those cheap gamepads which amigainput detect, but which always "auto-down": in calibration mode, I need to press DIFFERENT buttons after each X/Y calibration. Absolutely unlogical, but I somehow managed to not have that "auto-down". Through it seems still do some auto-move action.. but at not in the X/Y direction.

On the back of the controller you should have X and D selectable by switch, I believe we need to set it to D for DirectInput.

I had also issue for configuring two controllers - AmigaInput always crashed, but Daniel suggested to just configure one and renaming the setting for other controller and yes it did work :)

Not sure if sending the prefs for my F310 could get your controller to work?

Oh shit, you are right! It works now! yeahoo :)

Through what is interesting, it still has that bug when I calibrate X-Axis/Y-axis, that "down" sometime didn't work and I need to press different buttons on the gamepad when calibrate it to make it works. And in supertuxkart it still brings me that strange auto-axis choice.

But it surely works.

And btw, to avoid crashes, I just remove PCI_SoundCardHornet.drier from libs/Amigainput/ and crashes gone.

it's possible to use modern Wireless Gamepads (Xbox One S/Nintendo Switch/PS3/...) on AmigaOS 4. You just need a little USB-Device called MAGIC-NS.

There are some other crashes as well, Amiga Input uses hooks I think this is the problem, when gamepad is removed while the gamepad is in use, it can result in a crash.

I also had crashes when initializing the joypad.

Also, the SDK talks about AIN_CreateContextTags(...) this function does not exist, you need to use AIN_CreateContext(...), so I wonder if might be newer BETA that’s never released to the Public.

lowlevel.library was released by Commodore for the CD32.
The joypad of the console had 7 buttons beside the directions for the same 9 pin joy/mouse port that all Amigas had. It was the system friendly way to handle those ports.

Prefs/AmigaInput - lowlevel page allows to map AmigaInput controller to a lowlevel.library port so it can control software that uses lowlevel.library for joystick/gamepad handling.

Did you manage to calibrate that F310 pad properly? I tried again mine but that Z-axis is giving me problems. Slider goes down by itself.

Yeah, I'm aware of the mode switch. I can calibrate the left stick but not the right. This means I cannot create SDL2 controller mappings for this pad, unless I somehow skip the right stick config.

So you are able to use both analog sticks?

Hmkay. I guess I start looking for that MAGIC-NS adapter, assuming it allows twinstick support. It would be fun to write a twinstick shooter game. EDIT: ordered adapter.

Both analog Sticks are working using an MAGIC-NS USB Adapter and a Xbox One S Bluetooth Controller.

In AmigaInput the right Stick is show as Z-Axis / Z-Axis rotation:

In Tower 57 the left stick moves the character while the right stick is used for aiming.

Got the Magic-NS adapter and plugged a PS4 controller in. I still have the same old issue with AmigaInput prefs that as soon as I touch the right stick, Z-Axis sliders drop from middle to bottom. They never set to middle again even after calibration.
