Come and have a laugh this Sunday! (UK)

If you live in the UK, and are anywhere near London this coming Sunday, (13 May) please wonder over to the Anything But Windows (Formally Amiga North Thames) usergroup meeting.

For there you will gasp! marvel and possibly laugh out loud as I, Mikey C attempt to install X11 and several X11 compatible applications on my Amiga OS4 & MicroA1 Combo.
- This could end in tears!

Also, see UBantu Linux being put through its paces, plus Amiga emulation, Tea, Coffee, Pringles and maybe just maybe, some cake too!

What more do you want?

for details, please see our old, Amiga North Thames website, which will soon be replaced with a shiny new Anything But Windows website.

Doors open from 13:00.

Good luck with your install !

I installed X11+Updates with no trouble... Then I installed AbiWord, No problem... It's just that every time I launch it, I have a Guru visiting me instead of a Word Processor. So unless that's a new Word Processor Interface () I might have to give it another go, maybe this weekend...

I'll be there.

Once you've finished laughing at Mikey.. ahem I mean laughing with Mikey... come and also have a look at Skinnable TuneNet due for release later this month.

Cheers,
Bean.

I may even do a helpfile on getting the most out of tune net

Look forward to seeing you there Paul.

Fine, Fine, Fine. I installed x11 with no problems (took ages though)

I also installed the X11 update as well as Abiword. Works lovely. Well worth a try.

Aside from that, I didn't get anything else done, as I took my daughter along and she insisted on playing SuperMarioWorld (OS4 Depot) SuperTux (OS4 Depot) and watching an Episode of Doctor Who!

Kids!

Hehe, very nice!

My 7 month of old son likes to look at slow mooving screenblankers.

Hope this will change in the future

Yeah he did! There was quite a lot of interest in the way skins are constructed, not so much in the actual application itself! (I suppose at the end of the day all it does is play music!). I'm gearing up to a last minute "preview" release at the end of the month which will be released on the TuneNet homepage, but not on OS4 depot as it is not ready yet for general use.

Those interested in creating skins (or wanting AHI Device Audio as apposed to the Music Unit) should download it when available. I'll give you all a shout when ready.

Cheers,
Bean.
