1. I'll consider it.

cheers

2. Hmm it should do that already. It does for me. Are you sure you're viewing a valid path? root view will open it in sys: (where else?)

Sorry, myfault, theres a 'cd ram:' in my shell-startup script

3. That's a reaction thing as far as I know. And yeah, I will remove the one in the main lister, don't know why that was ever added.

4. Yeah that's on the todo list. Use user buttons until it's added.

thoughtso

5. Will solve itself once user menus is done. For now just configure your favorite editor in a user button. (easier to click than using the menu anyway)

Indeed

6. I'll add it to the list.

From the ReadMe for version 53.16:
Quote:
Add ability to allow window position snapshot

The snapshot option doesn't seem to work for me with the X, Y coordinates of the window (width and height DO work).

You have to enable it in the preferences.

I made it optional since most people probably want it to open where the mouse pointer is. (when starting from fkey or once the mouse click commodity is made)

BTW localization is a bit unfinished no??

I translated it to spsnish, and strings that are on .cd they don't show localized (others don't know where they belong).

PROJECT menu string shows garbled text instead of localized one (maybe wrong mem pointer os such, 'cos it shows text string from other programs [IBrowse,...])

And some string are twice or three times on .cd (ex. 'Workbench Screeen',...)

Finished missing functionality in the preferences program.

Did a lot of polishing and fixes.

Could Filer be made to accept a path as an argument? That way different instances of Filer could be started with different paths.

Edit: What else would be nice is if Filer could receive X, Y values as arguments, so that different instances of Filer can be started in different places on the screen.

It takes a path since quite a while. As for pos, I'd have to add that to the task list.

Oooops; I should have tried it before assuming the option wasn't there.

One other request:
Since the user-defined buttons are of a fixed width (and may not be wide enough to display the whole name), could a tag be used in the button name that would find the named image in TBImages: (AISS) and display the image instead of a name?

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

The prefs format actually supports a button image already. It's just not used yet. When I have time to find out how images/icons actually work in aos I'll add it. Seems AOS has a bad habit of locking the files when loading images which seems quite stupid to me.

Another useful feature would be to have Filer open a drawer in a new lister window if the drawer is double-clicked while Ctrl is pressed.

It's datatypes.library that locks the images, and because BOOPSI images are loaded via datatypes, there's little that can be done.

Can the struct Image be copied by some means once loaded? (that way you can just dispose the old image including the file lock).

another very handy feature dopus magellan had was:

if you press spacebar, you get a small arrow to the left of the filenames (the names gets pushed one char to the right), and you can navigate with the cursor keys and enter dirs with enter.
enter on a file takes action on given file.
very neat.

Looks nice, I haven't tried it yet myself.

Can you do:

-directory navigation - back, forward, up level?
-does it have a drop down list or history of recently visited directories?
-can you change the view mode of the icons (list/thumbnail/etc?)

Thanks, I will check this out on my MicroA1.

I've been using this version quite abit (.18) and quite like it, ... but some more feedback

1. Datestamps, possibilty to display the actuall date rather than today / yesterdate etc, and more importantly the time as well.

2. Progress requester. When copying large numbers of files / directories would be nice to have an overall progress as well as an individual file progress. (having said that I found you can scroll the destination filer to have a look see., which is good)

3 Displaying directory content sizes would be nice. Also volume content in the title bar perhaps. I just found myself using the workbench window to watch the spare room on the drive whilst doing some cleanup using the filer.

4. Err there was a 4 but I've forgotten what it was ...

Keep up the great work!

Some feadbacks from me :)

1. for sure need add somethink like navigate by keyboard. I mean cursor, which can be moved by UP/DOWN and go into directory or run file by ENTER key. Maybe add somethink like "." and ".." for easy navigate (i know, many of amigans think that its bad, becouse dos/windows blablab, but for sure, its not windowses features, its user friendly ones).

2. somethink which will be allos easy back to previos directory. For dopus4 it was pressing on border of current window, for latest FileMater its some configurable key. Somethink like back to previous directory by pressing left mouse button will be alot speedup usage/work with filler.

3. drag and drop support.
I read that some problems with it (somethink cant work with it?). If author in interest to make powerfull tool in end, need to add it for sure somehow.

4. it is possible to configure filler, to have dopus4 looks (2 windowses and just works beetwen). Copies/movies/delete files/dirs with progress status and so on.

5. When you press button up to directory back, its stop on root of filesystem. But for sure, it must be up to show all partitions, devices, etc (like again, with dopus4,filemaster and any others).

The project seems very interesting at this moment, but for sure must be put many works inside to make it good. For me programm are very stable at moment.
