This is proberbly a stupid question but how do I get my CyberVisionPPC graphicscard to work under OS3.1?
I have installed the latest Cybergrah drivers for this site:
http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=14 And everyhing seems to install fine but when I reboot there are no screenmodes and when I doubleclick showgfxconfig I get
"0 graphics boards installed"
And when I doubleclick Cgraphx Mode i get:
"The specified card is not installed or there is no driver availible"
Any suggestions?

@johnfante Update the flash ROM of your CSPPC. Do you see the early startup menu on the CVision ? Is the CVision listed in the early startup menu ?

@thomas Forgot to write that the cards work fine in OS4.0 and MorphOS for PowerUp. So I think it is software. I will Flash the ROM tomorrow but I think it is the latest.

By "the latest", do you mean CGX V4? Note that V4 is not free, the update on that site says it requires the V4 CD-ROM. (You didn't mention anything about having it.)
Under OS4, the card is driven by the Picasso drivers, so no CGX is required there.
Best regards,
Niels

@nbache Sorry about that missing info. I am using the "CyberGraphX V3 Graphic Boards driver for CyberVisionPPC". As far as I know this should include everything needed. Do I - besides the CyberGrapX V3 drivers - need a install discs or something like that?

@johnfante Do you have the libraries for the PPC board installed, mainly 68060.library and do you run SetPatch in your startup-sequence. This is needed. Bye, Thomas

68060 V44 appears to be very old. V42 is even older.
You should use the libs and flash updates from
http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=13 Bye,
Thomas

You are relly using OS 3.1 not 3.5 or 3.9 nor an Exec.library patch ?
I had problems with my BVision uner OS3.9 and CGFX 3 which thought my exec V45 was older than V40. To solve this I used a CGFX patch from the archive of exec enhancer from Harry "Piru" Sintonen (see
here )

@thomas
I have flashed my CSPPC and updated to the latest librarys.
Still the same
Strange!
Any more suggestions?
Or else I think I will do a reinstall and see if that helps!
@alalaban
My OS 3.9 CD is not the greates anymore so I thougt that I would start with OS 3.1 and then see how it went.
Btw.: Is an upgrade to CyberGraph 4 worth the money?

@johnfante to be sure you understand me : one library from CGFX3 was thinking my exec was too old and as such did not want to start. To solve it I used an innofficial patch from Piru which is correcting this problem. I never bought the CGXV4 so can not tell you if it worth the money. However I think you can now find CGFXV4 for quite low price so this might be an occasion to update.

So I guess it's worth a try, especially if you can find a cheap copy like abalaban mentions.
Best regards,
Niels

@nbache
Well I have bought Cybergraph 4.0. Installed it on a fresh 3.1 setup and updatet to the latest 4.3b R6. Everything installs fine.
Still it will not show any screenmodes in screenmodes from thw CybervisionPPC card, and there is just a black screen when I connect my monitor to the Cybervision output.
When I doubleclick on showcgxconfig I get:
cgxsystem.library 42.7 (68K mode)
0 graphics device(s) installed
I have installed the latest 68040 and 68060 librarys (
http://powerup.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=13 ) and have flashed the Cyberstorm to the latest firmware.
The card works fine in OS 4.0 and MorphOS PowerUP so it works.
Well now I am lost!?!

@johnfante did you have in the past P96 (with another gfx card) installed onto that AOS3.1 partition? and check to have the the CVIsionPPC.info in SYS:Devs/Monitors (IIRC for some reason the CGX installer fails to copy it)

here mine: BITMAPCACHE=YES BOOTLOGO=NO PACKED24=NO PASSTHROUGH=YES SCROLLMASK=NO edit- goto SYS:Prefs/ and run CGXMode (with an Amiga native monitor connected to the 15 Khz rgb port) Chose a suitable Monitor setting from "Monitor Specification" >Edit>Default (chose one that meets the maximum horizontal freq supported by your monitor) Then test one that fits your CVPPC wb resolution, then reboot. When you are sure that the chosen resolution is ok, goto SYS:Prefs/Screenmode and pick the CVPPC at the right resolution.(test it and save)

@Framiga When i doubleclick CGXMode nothing happens!! I have checked that it is set to Executable. The strange ting is that the tool types are completely garbage. The top line says dont edit the following lines and then the rest says IM1= and then a lot of crap. Are they supposed to look like that?

@johnfante eh!?! anyway ... run SnoopDos and look whats missing. That "garbage" is probably due newicons but ... are you sure we are speaking about a plain OS3.1/CGX installation? During the CGX instalation, you have chose to instal newicons?

@johnfante
CGXMode needs
gtlayout.library . You were told that during installation IIRC.
BTW, never choose novice mode when installing something. Novice mode is for experts only. Always use advanced or expert mode.
Please try this disk:
cgxboot.dms It should boot into a 1024 x 768 x 16 @ 60 Hz screen.
Bye,
Thomas

@thomas
Finnally something worked
. The Cgxboot disc worked fine.
I have gtlayout. And a update didnt make any difference.
I have also installed newicons but that didnt do any difference either.
As far as I can see there are no requierements for Cybergraph besides the installer you use.
I have tried snoopdos but it only tells me that cgxmode is changing directory. No missing things etc.
I will do a reinstall - once more - and see if that makes any difference.
