Default Icons gone haywire
Quite a regular

All of a sudden all of my default icons are defaulting to warpview as pictures. I had them set up to run the relevant programs ie mplayer, dvplayer, amigaamp, pointrider, antiword etc etc. I have checked the entries in prefs/env-archive/sys and all seem fine. Why would this be happening. Any ideas appreciated.

PS is iconcopy44 meant to copy tooltypes over?

Copyicon44 only copies the icon image and should not have changed any of you tooltypes. I use it all the time as its far quicker than draging to each individual info box.
If all your icons are still pointing to the programs you set them to then this is a bit of a mystery to me unless these icons are not the one being used!

Hi @acefnq

Why would this be happening. Any ideas appreciated.

The new category 'DiskImage' craps out all the other categories; don't use it!

Try an existing category like Archives and enter the pattern there. I assume .lha, .lzx and .adf are all archives with different constructs.

Edit:
When someone get this all setup and running, please write some instructions!!!!

The problem is that you most do more then just create it, have look at different sub categories, do you notice anything?

This install worked for me:

1) Unarc RunADF.lha to Ram.

2) copy RunADF to c:

3) copy def_adf to envarc:sys

4) Set Deficons Preferences to this 'adf' definition:
a. Find the Filetype category/class -- "Diskarchive"
b. click> Add
c. enter> adf
d. mouse over to Actions and click> Add
e. use the down-arrow menu and select> Pattern
f. enter> #?.adf
g. save

5) Make an assign in S:User-Startup -- e.g:
Assign UAE: DH3:OS3/
(Full path with the "/ " for directory)

6) Rename your emulator program version to> uae
i.e; "E-UAE_0.8.28" should be renamed as "uae".

7) Select a config file that runs that floppy file at it's
best and rename it ".uaerc_ecs"

8) The floppy adf file should be renamed using the
the the new Deficon settings. For example: DMCS.adf
This naming defaults to using DF0:DMCS adding a
number after the name will give a dfferent floppy
device.

9) Use "Leave out" in the Icon Menu for your adf file to
showup on the workbench.

*note: I use the original Eyetech Workbench from the
AmigaOne Linux disk without SDL version of E-uae. It
has better speed in a non-JIT enviroment.

@LiveForIt

There are few other problems:

You locked the config file to -- ".uaerc_ecs" ?
I wrote my own floppy bootup file for Deluxe Music Construction Set, but had rename it to ".uaerc_ecs"
to work. It was an old OCS disk IIRC.

RunADF can load tree different configuration files

.uaerc_aga
.uaerc_ecs
.uaerc_ocs

You can select the configuration file by entering AGA, OCS or ECS in the ADF icons tooltype, is this not working for OCS, I have tested it for AGA, and it works.

RunADF where never really designed to be used for programs; a program called ExecuteUAE is coming and it designed to start Programs or HD installed games whit in UAE.
