AAMP myApachStarter vs application.library on 4.1u3
Just popping in

See User information
Hi!

AAMP native was used a lot here before, but recently I didn't touch it.
Not sure, but IIRC it was used before update 3.

Now when I start myApacheStarter, application.library gives me this:

"... has opened version 2 of the interface 'application', but tried to pass version 1 tag definitions to application.lib!"

The app. can't start, however the Apache server can be started via the Start_AAMP script.

Tried to replace application.library from an update 2 install and that solved the problem, but that one is obsoleted for other softwares.

Is there an update for the AAMP package or there is smoething wrong with my system?

Bye!
Lazi

@lazi

myApacheStarter was written by Michael Christoph (http://www.meicky-soft.de). I will ask for a new version that solves this problem.

BTW: It works here on update 3.

I can confirm the problem.

1. An error requester with "To low memory to read prefs file".
2. Second requester - see above lazi's post (..."has opened version 2 of the interface"...)
3. Third requester "Unable to register application.."

@ cygnusEd

It is strange that you don't have this problem. Tested it on another machine and it behaves just like mentioned in the first post.

Here is myApacheStarter V3.00 (2011.03.11.)

However mySQLcontrol works normally, and I think both are compiled around the same framework.

So at least strange it is.

Bye!

I get the same message error as well, not sure what the program is supposed to do tbh. The third requester is to be expected as I have add AAMP to my user-startup as per the installation so its already up and running.

Okay off to check out rest of the suite to see if everything is running.

PS: Did I read the installation correctly - I thought it said I had to manually set up some env-variables - or did the installer take care of all of this for me?

Unfortunately not having much luck with mySQL, the server doesn't seem to want to stay available.

mysqladmin keeps reporting

mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

I cannot seem to ever save a username and password in the mysqlcontrol settings panel.

Uggg.. not much look with phpmyadmin either because of the above. At one point I did manage to enter it, but had no options for creating dbs or anything. Kinda stuck.

For starters I've copied phpMyAdmin-3.4.8-english into htdocs - is this correct?

Never had to manually set up phpmyadmin before, in MAMP it comes bundled.

Oh yeah pain in the ass as well, OWB works fine, MUI-OWB cannot open this page and results in a complete lock-up.

http://localhost/phpMyAdmin-3.4.8-english/setup/

Aside from MySQL and PhpMyAdmin.. the apache and php processor are working fine. :)

I highly suggest Edgar Schwan or someone else bundles phpMyAdmin into the package along with username and password set to root:root so I and others don't have to fiddle with mysqlcontrol which no-one in their right mind would want to use. Of course if they can figure out the mysql server issues.

@djrikki

There is no phpMyAdmin in AAMP, but there is an example settings file in
"AAMP/Contrib/Config-Examples". Maybe this helps.

Hi!

Old problem got solution.

Michael Christoph was so kind to release a fixed myApacheStarter on his website.

According to Michael this will be part of the next AAMP release by Edgar. Until then you can download separately and replace the old one. It is version 3.01 and runs without problem on update4.

Thanks Michael!
