How do I do that?

Do I have to connect an external USB CD/DVD drive?

OK...found a way to boot the CD, it loads all the files then it says Launching Kickstart but nothing happens.

Do you have a sata pci controller? Or a sd card with os4 pre installed on?

Hi,

I connected the SATA DVD to a PCI SATA controller.

Booting finally, but it loads all the files then it says Launching Kickstart but nothing happens...ideas?

After how long? Have you connected a hd aswell? And check the uboot settings aswell. It takes time to load from the cd, it's pretty slow medium.

* What is product name or part number of your PCI card?
* Do you have USB crap connected like card readers, usb pens, hard-drives?
* Did you read the manual, I think there might be a USB port reserved for keyboard
* Check that RAM module is connected.
* USE the on board GFX card until you have installed the updates.

Only connected things are:

SATA DVD-RW with OS4.1 CD inside

SATA HD to onboard SATA port

Keyboard in upper USB port
Mouse in bottom USB port

Onboard graphics

PCI 3512 2 SATA ports SATA controller (connecting DVD-RW to it)

Connect the hd to the sata controller aswell. Think you have to try both slots for the hd/dvd. Think they're supposed to be in a specific place. Don't kill me on this though.

What shows up in uboot at start? Not sure if it's necesery, but enter uboot prefs and set booting to the right dvd and sata card.

Done all that and still the same.

It boots from the CD, loads all the files then says: "Launching Kickstart" and it freezes.

Faulty DVD Rom Drive or CD incompatible with DVD drive ?
Change the DVD drive or make a back up of 4.1 CD ?

In the boot rom menu, what do you have selected for your boot device?

Also, what part of the world are you in?

The DVD drive works fine with the SAM440ep.

In UBoot I have tried all the combinations. booting from 3114 DVD, SATA 2, 3x12, tried them all.

I am sure it's something easy that I can't see right now.

Working now...the right CD was needed! What an idiot!
I have spent too long on Windows and Macs! Thanks for the suggestions
