Hello

Olympus LS-11
Olympus DM-5
Olympus LS-20M

digital voice recorders work with Sam460 if connected via a external USB hub.

Load and runs very well on my Sam460. Posting from TW :)

- I can also confirm that minimizing the TW window creates a DSI (Update5-Beta Sam460)

- Btw is there way to stop TW ask for loading missing plugins ? TW is always looking for a flash plugin, but can't find it of course (I wonder a gnash plugin makes sense)

- Loaidng process at a second tab slows the current tab you are viewing. I guess this is expected in this version.

Things will improve in time with our help to Frieden brothers...

For the sd card

Create a 1 or more partitions (SFS or FFS) on SD Card using MediaToolbox on AmigaOS4 (use usbdisk.device for reaching the SD Card in hard disk preparation utility) and put a SLB on it.
That should create a new disk in Workbench. Then install OS4.1 on this SD card partition.

Then in UBoot select the boot device as USB HD and boot from SD card.

It works here in my Sam460 setup.

Re: need advice on SAM460EX purchase

I have bought a PEX8112 based PCI Express 1x to PCI Bridge card and
tried on my Sam460. My motivation was to put Sil3512 on PCI-E 1x to
PCI adapter and use PCI slot SBLive sound card.

I have made the changes in UBoot and removed the jumper:

- I plugged Sil3512 card on PCI-E 1x adapter card, it seems UBoot
couldn't recognize SATA SSD or DVD connected to Sil3512.

SBLive isn't a low profile card so it is not possible to close Sam460
case when it is plugged to PCI-E 1x PCI adapter:

However I plugged Sil3512 back to PCI slot of Sam460 and plugged
SBlive on PCI-E 1x adapter, when OS4 boots both PEX8112 adapter card
and SBlive card is recognized by Ranger.

So I guess PCI-1x -> PCI adapter card is working on AmigaOS4.

My question:
Is there a way to use PCI-1x adapter on UBoot when booting from
Sil3512 plugged on PCI-1x -> PCI adapter ?

Hi,

Yes I have one here but it doesn't work. Our SATA device may need an update to see the card behind the PCI-PCIe bridge.

I plan to use it for soundcard (I wonder if AHI drivers for SBlive or ESI Juli needs update) ?

Yes I have a Digitus brand Sil3512 2 port PCI card that works on my Sam460.. Also I have tried Sil3114 (4 port) and Sil3112 2 port cards. But Sil3512 is the best performing one.

Does anyone tried or had experience with
PCI-E express 1X to PCI riser 32bits card adapter ?

E.g.:

Hello

I have

RadeonHD 4650 1GB 128bit PCI-E video card
and Sil3512 2 Port SATA card which works perfectly.
Using on board audio waiting for updated driver :)

I am not using PCI-E 1x slot and on-board SATA at the moment. I wish there was some PCI-E 1x sound card that has ESI Juli or SBLive soundchip. Or there were drivers for newer soundcards that fit in PCI-E 1x slot ?

I wonder if a bounty would make sense for PCI-1x slot soundcard drivers ?

Maybe 2 phases of bounty:

Phase 1: KDE Port

Phase 2: KOffice port (latest and stable version)

I hope all these ports are updated for Gallium3D when it is available. So that they can be played on Sam460/X1000 with RadeonHD cards..

Faulty DVD Rom Drive or CD incompatible with DVD drive ?
Change the DVD drive or make a back up of 4.1 CD ?

It boots from the CD, loads all the files then says: "Launching Kickstart" and it freezes.

As far as I know Ross is working on an updated Sam460 sound driver, he is aware of all the shortcomings of the current beta version.

I guess we need support for PCI-Express sound cards like Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi for Sam460 and X1000

There are drivers / sources for Linux at following location (I don't know if they are portable or not)

I recently pruchased a 40GB SATA2 SSD for my Sam460.

Since AmigaOS4 doesn't waste huge diskspace, this entry level SSD are great for Amiga.

It's silent, it's fast.

Similar problems on my Sam460.
For Sam460 and RadeonHD on 800x600 resolution, game speed 6 and scroll speed 5 feels good to me..

It would be great if 1024x768 resolution is possible for Napalm. but even in this beta version it is still fun to play Napalm on OS4 again..

Hello Alfkill

Thanks for sending the beta version. I tried on my Sam460 with RadeonHD. It worked at first attempt. But Napalm is running so fast that it is nearly unplayable.

Also is it possible to select a screenmode to play the game in 1024x768 or higher resolution ? Or is it limited to 640x480 as maximum
