The doubt abouts its being "for good" puzzles me.

Ironf1st's "good look" was the 1-st afair (he's actually not here atm afaik).

It's a strange phenomena this "good luck" thingie.

I'm sorry I still don't get it.
We say good luck in the UK just as a way of saying "hope everything works out well for you - a way of saying we wish you well!

Is it the good luck thing you are querying, or have I misunderstood?

I think its all to do with where you come from
if i say things in Aussie slang ppl wouldent get what i was saying half the time

like gday arvo cobber etc

eg: gday cobber howd it go this arvo

I meant I saw two "good luck"s here with a whiff of scepticism in reply or the message itself. Or it's a habbit one get from too much lurking in aw.net lately(misinterpretation of things one reads)? Maybe i's just me seeing/reading things that are not there.
