Re: I'm Smiling

@Mikey_C

Ok. I think I figured it out.

PHOTOSHOP has been ported to Amiga!!!

I saved the photo and then read it on my Amiga with a HEX editor and here is what I found...

The image was saved using an "Adobe" product. Ah ha! Best I could tell it was Photoshop. And no self respecting poster on an Amiga website would post a picture before at least running it through AdPro first. So he must have saved it on Amiga's "NEWEST" image processing program "Photoshop"!!

Now it also looks like it was registered to a person named "Ducky" or possible the computer is named Ducky? Might need some clarification on this part.

Am I right?!?!?!? What do I win?

@ssolie

Sorry, my post was just a joke. You know they whole "It's the 3rd most recognized brand in all of Europe" that A Inc was claiming.

Are think there are very few who even remeber Amiga, so intern I think that means there are very few left to laugh at us, thankfully.

People have been laughing at Amiga for a long, long time.... I think the important thing to note is that they still know about the Amiga brand.

I tend to disagree.

The brand is already very strong. It's the 3rd most recognized in all of Europe, so I think this court battle may just tarnish it's good name and possibly drop it to 4th or 5th most recognized.

Well for me who really wants AmigaOS on mainstream hardware (yes x86) for the very simple fact that I really believe it is very likely to bring back more old Amigans that have left over the years. I have several friends that all use to be Amigans with me in school, but could not realistically afford a complete 2nd system just to run Amiga for fun. Myself included unfortunately.

But... that aside... SAM does REALLY excite me. I have to admit it would be fun to have a 'special' system that only runs my AmigaOS again. If I can afford it, I would LOVE to by something like this. I really want to run AmigaOS4!!

That's what I was thinking. I spent 5 minutes studying them and I still can't see a UFO anywhere!?!

In Ibrowse you can just click the E on the bottom right corner of the Message area box and it brings up a text editor for you. Very cool feature. Though I don't know if that would help with the timeout issue though. But the text editor will stay open at least until you find out if your post went through or not.

Re: Favourite Amiga

The one I dreamed over the most would have to be the 3000T. I used to have an Amiga mag that had an advert for it and I would look at it for hours and dream. That was back when I still had an A1000.

It's hard to say. My A1000 was amazing. CDTV was where I learned SO much about Amiga. I had a bootable FredFish disk and would play around with all the hunrdreds of programs. Trial and error taught me all the in's and out's of AmigaOS.

A1200 though was sort of the perfect Amiga. Let me do everything I could before, but faster and with many more colors. CD32 w/ SX1, well I loved that one too.

I love them all!

That's a really good idea. I have folders full of downloads, but can never remeber what they are by their often cryptic file names. Wish I had thought of that years ago. /me slaps forhead. DOH!

@Jack

Yeah, there may be a way, but AminetRadio does it at the press of a button and it also automatically saves each mp3 with artist and song title. Just leave it playing over night and you'll have a folder full of mp3s.

Yeah I mostly use AminetRadio for streaming and searching for Shoutcast radio stations on the Amiga. http://amigazeux.net/anr/

People at work are always impressed that you can save the streams to MP3 in realtime. Something I don't think even WinAmp lets you do.

I switched back to 1.x from 2.x a while ago too. 2.x seemed to have much slower write speeds to disk than 1.x did.

2 sites I'd love to be able to listen to on my Amiga:

http://www.last.fm/

http://pandora.com/

Great sites and you can find all kinds of new artists to listen to.
