For Whom the bell tolls.

This just happened at work and I thought i'd share it with you.

The place where I work used to have a large vast area (about the size and a half of a football pitch) which had printing presses within it.

However the printing presses went and instead the area was refurbished to a plush new office area hosting lots and lots of people.

This morning when I was in there, an almighty din went off.

This is because in the old days, when the presses were in use, you couldn't hear the phone ring, so they installed something bigger than this (see below) on the wall, linked to the phone so that you could hear it ring.

Resized Image and believe me you could hear it ring.

As I said, now the area is a nice new plush office space, very quiet etc. However, when the builders were in, all they did was put up massive plaster board, covered over the bell, but left it behind the wall. Intact and working!

So now, its deafening in there!

P.S.
I have found out the phone number too

Hi Mikey_C,

On another message board (well, there are others), I was blasted for suggesting a telephone land line jack be included. Apparently they DO still exist.

Support Amiga Fantasy cases!!!
How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally.
