it's a known AOS4 "feature" that uses charset'ed fonts, LightWvae.font is built/embedded in Layout/Modeler so not easy to "fix", plese use walkero soltion or patch posted here.

Choose in Record panel, output display as RTG. Ham8/Ham6 is only for classic Amigas with original custom chips. If you have X1000 use only RTG.
If you look for make anim, save frame sequence as jpeg and compile avi from output frames with RNOeffects or similar tools like ffmeg, etc...

Thanks I understand, so you cannot save an anim directly from LW even if like me you choose RTG or none in Record. Doing so and giving it a save location results in the output defaulting back to HAM-8.

Will test saving individual images to compile together.

Ham8 and Ham6 is a legacy options for classic Amiga with custom chips OCS or AGA. VideoTaster format is only usefull if you have VideoToaster board installed.
For all other Amiga flavors use RTG.
You have an X1000 super Amiga, forget older format and enjoy RTG and 24 bits.

I think we are at crossed purposes.
I’m not trying to use HAM modes at all. I know they are legacy and not suitable for NG systems.
There seems to be an issue that whatever I choose in Record panel (none or RTG) does not stick. It defaults back to HAM-8 and will not start the render.

Search if you have older copies of configs lw-config and mod-config
in other place like env-archive: s: dh0: ...
You should start form LightwaveRTG icon not directly from layout.fp or Modeler.fp apps.

Thanks deleting all envarc references to LW seems to have helped.
Able to output files as jpeg now with a working RTG render preview.
AmigaOne X1000.
Radeon RX580

I have run into the problem of getting Type1 fonts to load/work in Modeler and have run the patch provided earlier. Still doesn't work for me. Not sure what I may have done wrong with the patch, but I will try to look at it with fresh eyes later today.

Will the forthcoming 1.1 version address this problem at all? Thanks!

Hi, the patch only "sets" in Layout and Modeler to use topaz.font and only for AmigaOS4.

Did you download gpatch (os4depot) and put gpatch command in yout path?
Can you post what CLI/Shell outputs when you do (inside <LWrtg_path>/Programs):
Patch_LWandMod.script PATCH

Also, was I correct that I need to actually type EXECUTE Patch_LWandMod.script PATCH etc.? Without the execute command, I got an error that it was not executable. Thanks.
