SATA SSD drive recommendations for Sam460LE + Sil3114

Hello all.

I have a Sam460LE with a 512 GB SanDisk SATA SSD, and it is very unreliable. The disk is recognised by U-Boot only 50% of the time.

I tried with a friend's Verbatim 128 GB SATA SSD, and it was recognised 100% of the time (I tried 20 times in a row).

I need to buy another SSD, but they are quite expensive at the moment, and I don't want to buy another incompatible one.

What brand and model of STA SSD do *you* use with your Sam460LE, and how reliable do you find it?

Early era of SSD Sandisk made firmware and other makes used it allso. As well as Intel.

Intel fixed bunch of bugs on firmware but didnt gave them out. So I would say Intel is safe side on small 64-120 gb range.

I had used Intel and Samsung from 240-250 Gb disks and up without problems.

I use samsung and EVO ssd's

Samsung evo or also Intenso working without issue.

Ok, thanks for the feedback - I will try and get a Samsung, as this seems quite popular and has good feedback from you guys! I chose SanDisk as I thought it was good quality, but given its problems and that I also had problems with my SanDisk Compact Flash card on my Vampire 4 SA, perhaps that is not the case after all!

I switched to Transcend and bought a new CF adapter, and the problems went away (on V4SA). It's annoying that I have had IDE-related issues on BOTH my m68k and PPC Amigas!

When testing with my friend's Verbatim, the SSD was recognised 20 times out of 20, but it only booted 18 times out of 20. Two times, booting just hung when the OS4 splash screen was displayed. Has anyone experienced this with Sam460LE + OS4?

Can't say i have.
Boots every time for me.
Have you tried re-seating the 3114 or different sata cables?

I use Kingston KC600 512GB 2,5" SATA III (SKC600/512G) connected through SiI3114 and never had any issues with it.
