Hi amigans,

I love to Play Doom and quake so i'm very intressted in mods for this Games. I get many mods/addons working under quake1 but quake2 is Something other. IS there anybody WHO get new addons Like call of the void running on Amiga quake2 ? I got the quake4 Mod for quake2 running but it Miss something at start and Crash later ingame. IS yamaki quake2 Amiga even possible to Run mods ?

The Doom Community mostly do addons for gzdoom it is Like the new Standard for mods. Sadly WE got No gzdoom Port on Amiga.

There are really good gzdoom mods Out there that Look really great and do total conversation Like a complete other Game.

Have a good day and only Amiga make IT possible

He's a huge Quake 2 fan—it was his first game when he joined Hyperion.

Steffen recently updated the Quade 2 port for AmigaOS3/OS4.

thank you very much!

indeed i´m in contact with steffen, but i also know he have much work with settlers2 and some upcoming things. i dont want to stress him out with old quake2. I buy his version of quake2 btw. ;) love his stuff and give him support.

I just thought that maybe some quake2 fans are here and do already modding on amiga. For Quake1 i get many mods running just by "quake +set game mod", quake2 should be the same "quake2 +set game mod" but many mods just have errors or missing files and dont know why it is so complicated.

Just if there is maybe some coder / fps fan / amiga freak reading, i want to remember that many "older" games are not dead and have a good running mod community and the quality of mods get very good this days and Amiga is the best way to play them

Stupid ME just found out that "call of the Void" only work on the new remaster quake2. Now with the remastered Versions it get even more compilcated if mods are for the : new/classic/mint versions. *sigh* thought a new great addon is coming.

Well SORRY to trouble you

Quake 2 is indeed different than Quake:
" The Quake engine was the only game engine to use QuakeC. Following engines used DLL game modules for customization written in C, and C++ from id Tech 4 on."
(Wikipedia)

In other words, for Quake the work was already done when the first port was released. There was no code in mods that would have needed work.
