Found the bios chip from my first Sam460ex . Managed to get it to boot using this one. Pondering my options for the update.
will try to find a working dvd drive . And work slower if I do attempt the U-Boot Update .
The socket on my board has always seemed to be a bit flaky. Have had to put pressure on the chip to get the board to boot from time to time over the years. Had the same issue with the old chip that I just installed also . Made several attempt at re inserting the chip before it worked consistently.
The eeprom rewrite seems to be failing or writing a bad image so the board does not reach of finish the initializing stage. The red and orange lights don't flash . .
here another failure bricked my sam460ex , did all the steps first checked which version i needed it was 50 so i burned the 50 version iso and boot it well so far so good then it hangs nothing for about 15min nothing reset and bang dead black screen . thanks for nothing. how do i get a working uboot chip ??
we'll send a replacement uboot bios to all affected users. Just send an email to info@acube-systems.com with your board serial number and full shipping address.
If this chip from SST, then yes, you can use it, but to program it you need to use the 2015b updater, since support for this model was added only with this release.
Could it be that it is the AT49F040 and AT49BV040B that are causing the problem due to its "variable sector size" and option to lock the boot block? Or are other/all flash types affected by the problem?
With which voltage is the flash memory driven by the Sam460; 3 or 5 Volt?
Any updates by chance on the shipping process? 😊
I’ll be sure to post here whenever I get a notification that my board is sent, fingers crossed that something happens here in the next week or two. I’m located in the US, so maybe that would play a role in how long it takes to get shipped out?
