Ram behaviour with UAE
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

See User information
Hi all,

I have this line in my .uaerc
filesystem2=rw,RAM:RAM Disk:RAM:,-1

When I boot UAE, is displayed in the console:
EXECUTE: Can't open "T:Command-0-T1"
function not implemented
execute failed returncode 10

Then, when I do:

>dir ram:
T (dir)
Clipboards (dir)
Command-0-T1 Command-0-T1
>dir ram:
T (dir)
Clipboards (dir)
T (dir)
Clipboards (dir)
Command-0-T1 Command-0-T1
Command-0-T1

and everytime I do a "dir ram:", its content is doubled.

Do you have the same?

I don't understand why one would do that?
There is a ram disk already present when you boot in WB.

About the error:

Seems like something tries to start a file (saving the command in T:) but fails due to the mixed ram disks

if you really want to access your ram disk in euae try:

filesystem=rw,A1_RAM:RAM:

I tried your proposition but it still do doubles when I do "dir A1_RAM:" many times...

Of course, it's not a big problem. I just wanted to post it here for record purposes

No because it's not that important but now I did.
It may hide another problem in the filesystem handling.

The latest EUAE also SEEMS to leak memory, does anyone else have this problem. I just want to make sure it is not just me before reporting to Rich.

Running a wb seems to take up a?almost all the available fast memory and only releases some back when booted. Trying to run Amikit drains almost all memory fast.

Thanks for the report. I'll take a look at the problem.

Yes. It does. I haven't studied this problem on OS4.0 much, but the Linux version definitely does leak memory, so it's safe to assume it does on OS4.0 too. It's on the fix list.

Hi @acefnq

Wow, I didn't realize the leak was that much. I just
went from 165Mb to 95Mb in a wink. What's a normal
configuration?

I normally use a bog standard 2mb chip and 8 fast ram and this works fine for almost everything. However, I started playing with Amikit, I have it running but the memory issue kills it.
