Just bought on Amistore. Downloaded and installed perfectly!

Pretty good, I think I need a controller though to do well.

@Magic

Mine is different but still weird. When I first turn it on it will light up for about a full second and then turn off. With the MB led flashing. THen when I press the power button a second time it will power up just fine and operate perfectly.

Another problem is my clock has to be reset everytime. I have tried replacing the battery of course. It will not update the time, but it doesn't reset unless I swith off the power supply or unplug it. In other words it will hold the time that I last used the system, but not update it to the current time. But it I unplug it or switch off the power supply it will reset the date and time to January 2000 or something like that.

You are missing some of the files from original installation. I think am using files from my Steam account, but I do have original CD. Because I have Augustus installed on my main rig since I found about it, I just copied files over to Amiga.

Another good mention is VanillaRA/VanillaTD/Vanilla ConquerTD, look them up in OS4Depot. Didn't test them properly because of time, so I can't say if there are any glitches or crashes in the campaigns.

As @davebraco advised, DOSBox can be used as better alternative for some of the games.

Ok, I bought Caesar III from GOG I think. I will look into it. I was getting into the game and progessing, but that killed it for me. So it would be cool to get that working.

I was unaware of Dosbox so, I have to try to figure that out. But it seems like it could open the door to some more games.

Thanks!

@Lio

Have you had success with that patch? I tried it and yes it makes the game work, however it doesn't work right. Especially if you play as the humans. The speed is too fast. The enemy AI is all over you with in the first 30 seconds, there is no way to play the game.

Maybe it is my system though.

I have X5000/40 and an RX550

Thank you. I was unaware that these were playable on Amiga. I will try to get them working.

Warzone 2100 was crashing for me on first mission and couldn't move on.

Augustus works perfectly, finished peaceful campaign and most of military. While it is not RTS, it's a great management sim. It tend to slow down for a bit when you have huge city built.

I couldn't get Warzone 2100 to work. Augustus is pretty cool, but for some reason my system always says it can't load certain assets so after I progress in the game it can no longer display some graphics and really becomes unplayable. Too bad, because I really enjoyed it.

RTS games?

There seems to be a lot of games that have been ported to Amiga that I didn't know about. Have any good RTS games ever been ported? I would love to get a game like Age of Empires II on OS4.

I own Napalm, but it hardly works in OS4. Are there any other RTS games for OS4?

@Maijestro

I got my x5000/40 about a year and a half ago. And it makes the OS4 experience feel great. So much better than emulation. It was expensive, but I have spent far more on computers over the past few years that I don't enjoy using or have had to replace several times. I look forward to seeing your youtube channel and all new OS4 exposure.

Thanks for your replies.

I truly hope the community will be able to come together to provide a more capable browser for AOS. It is such an intergral part of daily use nowadays.

I love that we get new software, but a more capaple browser seems like it could make quite a difference.

Thanks to everyone involved.

I just checked Amistore and it worked correctly and allowed me to log in and see my account. Was there an update since the last time you tried it?

Sorry to ask a very uninformed question, but I have tried to follow this topic and searcg the site and haven't found anything. I never hear anything mentioned about IBrowse in this project. Would the guys at IBrowse be able to assist or collaborate to work on or share parts that could help with the overall browser situation for everyone? I obviously know nothing about what it takes to build a capable browser, but I like and use both Odyssey and IBrowse and womdered if there was any partnership.

Thanks

Cool. I will definitely follow your channel and I look forward to you highlighting your A1222+.

Even though I have X5000, I kind of want a A1222+ as well. Maybe because of the size.

@Maijestro

Congrats on your new Amiga!. I got my X5000 last year after many years of emulating, so I can relate to the feeling. I was also planning to show in on a youtube channel, but unfortunately life events got in the way.

Maybe soon though.

Is your channel already up? If so what is the name, so I can check it out.

@skynet

I purchased my copy on Amistore in 2023. I did not get a key. I reached out, but got nothing. And then 2 or 3 months ago I saw that a key was provided on Amistore for it finally.

However it did not work when I tried it. So I still can't use the software.

Disappointing.

Cool, I haven't been up in that area too far, but my wife's family are from the Bay area just south of San Francisco, in Redwood City.

I have never been to Amiwest either, but have been thinking about it. Of course it is about an 8 hr drive for me. But maybe can combine it with a trip to the in-laws for my wife and kids.

@eliyahu

How is Amiphoto?

I purchased it on the Amistore, but it never gave me a serial number. And it won't let me use it or even close it with out it.

BTW

I have tried to contact both Amistore and Alinea, but niether offered any help, so I just gave up.
