Has anyone in the US been able to purchase the digital copy? It requires a country , but does not have the US as an option that I can see.

I got the update this morning through AmiUpdate. I got an error the first time I booted after install and a black screen afterwards. Turned off came back a few hours later and it seems to be running fine now.

Thank you for sharing. I love my X5000 as well. It was my first real hardware Amiga since my A3000s. I always wanted to try OS4, but could not justify the price. But once I was able to emulate it in on a decent PC, I fell in love with it. I almost pulled the trigger right before covid and thought I missed my chance. But then a few years later, on a whime I emailed Amigakit to see if they had them, and I got an email from Launrent saying he had some in stock.

I didn't want to miss out again, so I went for it. A little expensive, but not too much more than I would pay for a new Mac or decent PC.

Cool. Will definitely check this one out. Never played the first one, but it looks like my kind of game.

Purchased.

Version 1.3 was requiring me to use a gamepad, but a few hours later 1.4 was available and it works without the gamepad!

Anyway was hoping for another tower defense game from them. Hope they bring MACE tower defense 2 out for OS4 as well.

That was what I was thinking as well. We will never have the resources to keep a web browser updated and useful on our aging hardware. But with this method we could take advantage of the work of others on other platforms and just build the integration into OS4. Plus we could continue to upgrade the hardware needed to process the websites apart from our dependence on PPC hardware.

I agree with you. It was emulation in WinUAE that first let me try OS4.1 as well. And eventually got me to purchase real hardware. I am convinced that if more Amiga users get to try OS4.1, the more will want to use it regularly and even buy better hardware to do so.

But we need to have good software solutions as well to allow users to get all or most of their daily needs met in OS4.

I wonder if something similar could be done in OS4 by using additional hardware, plugged into a pci slot. SOmething like a rasberry pi. It could handle all the hardwark and feed it back to OS4 to display and interact with.

Probably a lot harder than I think, but just a though of how we could utilize more modern hardware to keep our machines going.

It doesn't seem to have anything to offer me, as X5000 owner. Maybe in the future when emulation again creates a superior experience to real hardware.

For now however,I would pre-pay for enhancer 2.3.

When I use the information window to copy the icon to replace my old icon, it doesn't display the new icon, but instead replaces it with a generic photo icon with the letters png on it. I have a png datatype and can view the png file, but it seems like it can't use png files for icons.

DO I need to convert the files first or do I need something else to use them?

I am using an X5000 40 with rx 550 and OS 4.1 FE update 2 and my screen resolution is 1920x 1080.

I am using my Microsoft account, but I am only on Windows 10.

I am using it through the shell and telling it which user to use. So I don't see any options , but that would be interesting to find out if it works with multiple accounts.

Audio works too. I was even playing some turn based Steam games on my X5000! Not quite fast enough though to playing things that need full movement.

Although Darren said he uses it to view youtube. My connection isn't fast enough for that, so maybe if improved my connection I could playing some more demanding games over it.

Really, with all those computers, not one Windows machine?! :)

Well not sure if there is a Mac or Linux solution. But it is a pretty cool way to use my Amiga for almost everything.

Have you used the latest Remote Desktop for Amiga? I just got it and love being able to use it with my X5000. I am able to use almost all programs on my WIndows 10 and 11 machines on my Amiga with audio!

I can do everything while on my Amiga instead of having to switch to my PC.

If you haven't tried it, you should give it a shot.

Wasn't 2.3 supposed to be released at somepoint last year?

I just got this setup tonight and it works very well. I had tried to setit up in the past using the version that came with my system, which unfortunately only supported Windows 7. But when I read about the newer version, I headed over to give it a try.

After some inital problems, Darren helped me to get it going and I am very happy with it. Some lag to it at times, but other than that I can pretty much get everything done though my Amiga and anything I need to use in WIndows I can have access to rather easily through the remote desktop. Very convenient especially with the cut and paste between the systems.

I hope he contiunes to support the program and maybe optimizes for OS4. ANyway I am loving it right now.

And Darren is very helpful. I recommend every go make him a donation and get the newer version. It is well worth it and then some.
