Publications : Amiga Future Issues 39 and 51 Online
Posted by AndreasM on 2007/5/28 12:37:34 (2065 reads)
Publications

The german issues 39 and 51 of the Amiga Future are out of stock. Because of that you can read the two magazines (amongst many other issues) online at http://www.amigafuture.de/forum/kb.php?mode=cat&cat=10 .
The issue 66 has been released recently and is available in our online shop. Just now we work hard on issue 67.

No. 67 will be the first Amiga Future issue being published in German and English.

We ask all interested users to order issue 67 as soon as possible because we'll print only the preordered amount plus a small reserve.

Software News : PointRider 0.30
Posted by corto on 2007/5/22 21:34:52 (2247 reads)
Software News

PointRider 0.30 is available. This is a PowerPoint viewer. From the previous version, enhancements are : background display (colours and pictures, full or tiled), timer for automatic slide, many memory leaks fixed, better image display (there were some missing pictures).

More internal debugging features were added and a Ruby script allows to run a whole group of files in debug mode, with a final report. More than 600 files were tested. So it is stable and runs on OS4 and MorphOS (no 68k version is planned at the moment).

PointRider is available from Aminet, OS4depot or the official website

Amiga Events

As some of you will know Amiga Emulation for Beginners is set to return.

Now that BTTR is gone I thought it was the best thing to do as there are very few legal games sites out there.

WookieChat 2.6 is now available for AmigaOS 3.x, AmigaOS 4.0.. and now also MorphOS and AROS too! The idea of being on both Amiga and Amiga-like systems had slowly been growing on me. Using AmiDevCpp and with the help of several users on freenode #morphos and #aros, I was able to port Wookie over in only a few days!

Software News : Allegro game development library - status update.
Posted by Troels on 2007/5/19 0:56:03 (2408 reads)
Software News

The idea to get Allegro ported to AmigaOS4 originally came from spotUP who needed Allegro to get more stuff to port. As spotUP is responsible for 300+ uploads to OS4depot I think that sounded like a great idea and the bounty was set up at www.amigabounty.net. We have so far reached 250 EUR but I was hoping more people would make some donations as there are now two people working on the Allegro port.

And that was actually what this status update was all about. To keep it short, the bounty has been assigned to RWO and Hitman/CodeHQ and work so far is progressing well .
Visit www.amigabounty.net and please keep the donations coming, so spotUP and others can soon enjoy using allegro when porting stuff for OS4.

Software News : Gimp 2.2.13 alpha for Cygnix (AmigaOS 4) released
Posted by cygnusEd on 2007/5/18 13:25:49 (2431 reads)
Software News

An alpha release of Gimp 2.2.13 is now available on OS4-depot.

Yes, this is another alpha release of Gimp. After publishing the last alpha
of Gimp 1.2.5, I didn't want to release Gimp 2 in an unfinished condition. But
I got a lot of requests from people, who liked to work with it, although the
plugins are missing. So I decided to give the other users access to this pro-
gram.
