Radeon HD series .. thats kind of undetailed

Which card from the HD series would fit?

I?d go for the Radeon 2900XT in the case it is suitable.

Gimme a shout, please

edit: oh yes, and i don?t think the HD 3000 and 4000 series are working due to the chipset(?)! RV7xx and RV8xx i think

In theory a Radeon HD 3000 or even 4000 series card should work, but good luck finding a PCI version.

To become betatester which graphic card should we buy ? and where is possible to buy a pci model ?

People have been asking me where you can buy these cards, I've put up a page with links to a few sources. If anyone knows of other places where you can buy them, post them here, or email me the links.

Can I use my AGP card and a PCI card (in 33MHz slot) simultaneously on my A1 ? (I dont' want to lose 3D.) What your HD2400 driver can do already and what it can't ? DVI ?

That's exactly what I've been doing in order to develop the driver. If I had to swap the cards over every time, it would have taken much longer.

The HD 2400 can display on both VGA and DVI, but has no hardware acceleration yet. People should only apply to become a beta tester if they're really interested in testing; people who want to replace their graphics card with a newer one need to wait.

The best i've found as PCI is the HD2400. It's not expensive, but not sure if it fits inside my sam box.

Sorry to be of annoyance, but the Radeon HD 2400 PRO PCI with 256 MB RAM would work then?

Can you use low-profile (i.e., half-height) cards in your SAM? If so, there are a few low profile cards available. They have both a full height and low profile end plates.

I don't have either of those motherboards, so I can't tell you exactly what happens. If you have the RadeonHD.chip driver then it should just work.

No, it isn't normal. IIRC, the SAM can only use 3.3V capable PCI cards, and you cannot use the AGP slot and the 66 MHz slot at the same time in an A1. Make sure that it's in a 33 MHz PCI slot on the A1SE. I know that the A1SE has more issues than the A1XE, so I have no idea how it behaves.

Someone else tested an HD 2400 in a SAM flex, and it started up okay (still tracking down a bug in the driver though).

When you say the machine doesn't start up, do you see anything on-screen? If the HD 2400 is the primary graphics, then you should see UBoot on the HD 2400. If the HD 2400 is the secondary card, all you'll see on its output is a flashing cursor; UBoot and OS4 will output to the other graphics card.
