I keep forgetting the "mark and grab" functionality locks up the system as soon as you poke the wrong thing... maybe get rid of it? Also, I'm posting this so I might remember next time I have a fine idea.

Maybe custom screen is key.

I'm not on my system right now, but SGrab's "mark & grab" works perfectly fine here.
I use it all the time

Stephan Rupprecht left the Amiga almost 15 years ago. I doubt he'd be interested in bugfixing an old program, the source code of which he might no longer have.

There are no sources for SGrab in the Hyperion repository, so we can't "fix" it. However, I use it frequently without a problem.

Can you describe a sure-fire means of provoking a crash/lockup?
