Issue 77 of the Amiga Future has been released on 5th March. The magazine is available directly at the editorial office and some Amiga dealers

Amiga Events : XAD 7-Zip plug-in supports PPMd

By popular demand, I have updated the xadmaster.library plug-in for 7-Zip to support archives compressed with PPMd.

This support is currently only built into the OS4 compile due to unforeseen problems with the 68k build.

Download or update using AmiUpdate.

ffmpegGUI v1.2 - a GUI front end for the OS4 compile of the ffmpeg program.

Version 1.2 adds a tab page to support mapping file streams as well as well as a menu to play the video files with an external player specified by the VPLAYER tooltype. (ie. MPlayer or DvPlayer). Also added support for the -shortest command.

Amiga Events : OpenAmiga.org status report

There is now 11 project open for grabs and 15 assigned projects on OpenAmiga.org. 2008 provided a slow start for OpenAmiga, as expected with the number of available developers for our platform. Hopefully 2009 will speed things up a bit with the SAM adding more and more os4 users to the fold. Still we managed to submit the extended mouse pointer types project to Hyperion and quite a bit of source code was submitted to the svn.
