Software News

A new release of "Claws-Mail" is now available on OS4-Depot.
Claws-Mail is an email client based on GTK+. Lots of extra functionality, like an RSS aggregator or a calendar, are provided by extra plug-ins.

New compared to the previous package (version 3.7.1):
* New plug-ins:
- pdf_viewer: Provides the ability to display attached PDF files in the mail window.
- python: Enables the inclusion of scripts written in the Python programming language.
* The SSL/TLS support for receiving and sending mails has been updated.
* The start scripts and the icon set have been updated. Claws-Mail can thereby be e.g. now also be started individually on the Workbench.
* Updated tool "bogofilter" for detecting spam mail.
* The plug-in "gtkhtml2_viewer" has been removed, unfortunately it does not work anymore.

Supported protocols:
* POP3
* SMTP
* SSLv23 / TLSv1.0 / TLSv1.1 / TLSv1.2 (POP3, SMTP)

Features:
* Support of vcalendar messages like that produced by Evolution or Outlook. It provides a personal calendar and public calendar import and export.
* Can receive RSS newsfeeds.
* Backup of messages in packed archives.
* Adaptive spam filter (bogofilter).
* Comfortable print support.
* Spell checking (Uses the Aspell dicts created for AbiWord).
* Comfortable and attractive GUI.
* Lots of more plugins and functions.
