![]() @desler,
I get a GRIM when trying to start the program (3 times.) When I tell it to ignore the DSI I promptly get a total lock up and have to reboot with the case switch. I copied the font file over appropriately, and 3 of the 4 zip files over to C: (skipped the low mem ZIP since I have two GB) This is with OS 4.1 update 3 installed. Anybody else getting DSI GRIMs? ![]() > Anybody else getting DSI GRIMs?
Yes, here it is unusable (A1XE), grim, then cpu at 100% _________________ Update : after looking what went wrong and with the help of Mr Cinnamom (Desler), I found I had problems with the drawer fonts:_TrueType. Playing with the content of the drawer, now CW starts OK. I still have problems with some fonts, as it crashes again when I open the font dialogue and try to browse the fonts. |

![]() It seems people are having problems with CW when it tries to load the truetype fonts.
Could you please make sure that you have a Fonts:_truetype directory on your amiga, and that it at least contains the Deja Vu Sans truetype font? I have seen that many configurations don't have this directory anymore, but I haven't found out why yet ??? If your problems are not caused by this, please send me crash reports and any error message that CW gives you Thanks ![]() |

![]() desler,
Quote: Fonts:_truetype Is this case-sensitive? Within my fonts Drawer, mine shows up like like Ricossa's with 2 capital "T"'s in TrueType. Also, I've carried over the _Bullet_outlines stuff with the Compugraphic fonts for years because of older Pagestream doc's which had used them. Could that be screwing things up in conjunction with the font file you uploaded for inclusion in our font drawers? I won't be near my Amiga until tonight to check anything, but what did you have Ricossa look for and change? Paul |

![]() Mine is also called "_TrueType", and that is how it is by default in OS4.
I also got the DSI when I tried starting CW last night. If it is requiring the directory to be called "_truetype", it is indeed broken. In fact, why does it bother at all what it is called, isn't that something that should be way below the horizon and handled transparently by the OS? Best regards, Niels |

![]() Also some considerations/suggest
![]() - On "online support" section the web-browser are not called correctly, it ask for a fixed path (sys: utilities/owb/owb) but if you don't have OWB in such path it crash badly (but luckly you can skip), at the end an inbuild URLOpen support should be better - If you write a block of text and then try to select it manually with the mouse you can't cancel that text using the DEL keyboard What is strange is that you can use the DEL key to cancel on an "imported text" but you can't use the cancel keys on any text typed directly on Cinnamon! - CTRL + arrows to select a block of text, this one it's very necessary, also selecting text with the mouse should be improved giving the chance to select more than 1 page More keys can be added for anythings following the standard usage for this kind of program - Mouse wheel doesn't work yet ! - Command VERSION need to be implemented ![]() - Tooltips (bubble help) on various button should be usefull altrough after some time you will remember all the functionality, but still to add in my opinion ![]() - An iconify support in GUI should be REALLY usefull expecially when you need to switch between many apps - I install the new dedicated Cinnamon font in FONTS but now MUI OWB always (at every startup) try to regenerate its fonts ? |

![]() > MUI OWB always (at every startup) try to regenerate its fonts
you must delete the multiple generated fontcache in the drawer of muiowb. Then it will generate it anew and only once |

Thanks for the ideas. I have written them up for next version. I have some questions though: - When you write cancel, do you mean that the selected text should be deleted or cleared of the marking (probably deleted right?) -By VERSION, do you mean a way that you can write CW -Version in shell and it will return "0.75" or something like that? I can easily do this, but I need to know if theres any programs using this output and how exactly it is expecting this output to look like. Regarding the mouse scroll. It worked in AOS 4.1.1, but crashed in later versions and I haven't found out how to do read it properly. If any one could help me with this I could fix this problem really fast. In regards to the bubble help it will come later, but it hasn't got a high priority. Until implemented people could perhaps read the manual ![]() |

Yes on shell but also on "icon info" or when you use the contextmenu Quote: Regarding the mouse scroll. Mmm UtilityBase is currently down but did you try to open a thread question on the Hyperion forum ? Maybe you can find there the help you need Quote: In regards to the bubble help it will come later, but it hasn't got a high priority. Until implemented people could perhaps read the manual I know but adding a visible help is a good programming style in general i think, it must be a sort of standard way for all devs |

![]() I wrote above:
Quote: If it is requiring the directory to be called "_truetype", it is indeed broken. Then I tried booting my "clean" 4.1 Update 3 partition, where I have installed considerably less TrueType fonts, and lo and behold, there it started. I did install the shapes font there first. So I either have a font CW doesn't like (in which case I look forward to some more informative error handling of this case ![]() Desler, do you know which of the two is the case? I don't want to start removing fonts one by one if you already know either which font it might be, or that it is about the number of fonts. Oh, BTW, it could theoretically also be about the size of specific fonts, I do have a couple of very large Unicode fonts installed. Best regards, Niels |

Don't do anything. I think Ive found the mistake. (And it was rather stupid). When encountering a broken font (or incompatible font), CW would correctly not try to load it, but would insist on closing the non-existing font. Thats why it wouldn't say anything but just crash miserable. I have compiled a new version but I haven't been able to test it thoroughly. Ill upload the executable for people to test it, and if no problems are found Ill upload a corrected full version. So if you had problems, please upload the new executable and please, please let me know if the new version works All interested can download the new bug-fixed executable here Remember this is only the executable. You need to put it in your CW directory |

When running the new version. Remember to give it a lot of stack. Ill see if I can reproduce your problems -Edited- Just tried to reproduce on my system. 500 kb of text is a LOT !!! Thats probably around 400 pages right?!? CW is most likely not frozen but is importing. Could you let it work for a bit and see if it imports correct. Then Ill promise to see if I can make the import routine faster for next version |

It starts fine here, but I have a stack of 327680, i.e. ten times yours. You didn't include enough of the crash log to see if that was your problem, but try increasing the stack, as desler said, it does need a fair bit of stack. Best regards, Niels |
