Amiga keyboard on AmigaOne XE

Afternoon. It's been a while, but I've decided to get back into it. A quick question - Amiga 2000 (I'm guessing) keyboard - the one with the 5 pin DIN plug - I got this about 25 years ago, when I had my 1200 towered up in an Eyetech tower.
Fast forward 25 years to now, I fired up my AmigaOneXE again, only to find it wasn't happy it didn't have a PS/2 keyboard in - unfortunately, I binned mine ages ago - and it turns out a lot of USB keyboards don't support PS/2 protocols anymore!

I did manage to bodge together a USB to PS/2 adaptor cable myself, and borrowed my wife's work keyboard to fire it up.

Long and short: I have the pinouts for the Amiga 2000 plug, and the pinouts for a PS/2 6 pin mini din.

Could I plug my Amiga keyboard into my AmigaOne? Has anyone tried? What would happen?

Ooh nice! But that's a USB on the other end - is it PS/2 protocol? Could I use an adaptor? I'm trying to find something to stop the machine from complaining about a lack of keyboard at the UBoot stage...

I don't have one myself, but I would assume that an Amiga keyboard would translate into something PS2 compatible. But I don't know that for a fact.

The amiga keyboard does not speak ps/2 keyboard protocol.
I don't know of any easy to find parts to convert the amiga keyboard into ps/2.
The only thing i know about is for A1200 keyboards.
The one for the infinitiv keyboards that connects directly to the keyboard membrane before any logic translates it into some serial protocol.
It might be tricky to attach it into the A2000 keyboard membrane even if the pinout probably is the same and they are probably rare.


However it's easy to convert an A2000 keyboard into usb with ready made solutions or just make one with arduino.

From there it should work with an ACTIVE usb ps/2 converter.
Most of the adaptors are passive and will not work.

If you know how to code arduino or similar it would probably be easy to extend some existing project into something that translates it directly to ps/2
