Resolved... Needed to use PS/2 devices, and set the boot options properly. Now. What did I miss?

Just recently decided to fire up the A1XE again (after replacing a dead CMOS battery ) but now uboot (1.1.1 IIRC) won't find the SLB, even though I reinstalled from an AOS 4.1 CD (using media toolbox). Boots fine from a CD... all discs go through a SI PATA board. Puzzled!

I did think that we should've organised badges like our avatars, just so we could identify each other - I only recognised Fleecy and Alan ! sicky wrote: Quote: BTW love your avatar

Looks like I have talked 'Rhino' (Robert Williams) into returning to the Amiga, he has just got his AmigaOne XE down from the loft and fired it up all okay and hoping to upgrade from Amiga OS4.0 to OS4.2 when it's available. He is a friend and editor of our magazine you may remember 'Total Amiga'
Sicky ! Welcome back mate ! I believe we met, way back in '03 at Eyetech's stand at some show or other in the NEC. Tell Rhino 4.1 u4 works fine in the XE (at least on a G3 it does ) I used to subscribe to that mag - I don't suppose there's any chance of a return !

you could always use one of the little converter cards between drive and PCI card to convert PATA <-> SATA (as appropriate) - I know Maplin in the UK provide these, others probably do to, like eBuyer. Then you can ditch the other - probably most effective to ditch the 0680 card.

Not true, surely ? I never use it, and havent linked my Spotify account to it either. surely you just need an email address, and something to run it on. Faceb**k is just for shouting about what you're listening to in case anyone is interested, and swapping the usual guff.

That's something I'd like to see... If this is set up, and comes to fruition, I'll chip in, and also offer my services beta testing on my A1

Seems like a good place to start, and basically cos I'm too lazy to look but... how do we get Youtube to play videos on this ? I doubt clicking the 'download missing plugins' from Adobe is going to work ! looks really good, it'll be great when its done !

I want to be able to do the things I use a Windoze machine for. So essentially, a browser that can do youtube out of the tin (ie: with some sort of embedded flash player), and Spotify. I guess we also need a decent word processor, and spread sheet too, and if anyone can recommend a mailer that can read html emails better than YAM (I like YAM, but people keep sending HTML emails, and really, this isnt the 90s anymore !) I will be eternally grateful. We also need a Java Engine. I dont even mean decent - a running one will do !

*sigh* it does get that way at times, doesnt it.
I mean, I'm now officially over 40, and at this age, anything new we learn, something pops out - replaced. I just know it will be my bank pin or something important that disappears !

netbook for me. its way cheaper than the x1000, and a portable amiga is hard to pass up ! I'd still buy an X1000 if I had the wedge though... just need 5 or 6 numbers to come up I guess

HI Kas1e, Tried it, that worked fine. looks like Warp3d and MiniGL are ok, must be something else then... Quote: kas1e wrote: Did Radeon7000 have support by warp3d ?
To test if warp3d works for you at all or not, just download "TheVague" diskmag from os4depot (any issues), and try to run it. Mag use pure Warp3d, and if it will not works, then you just not have working warp3d and minigl of course will not works.

Just downloaded Blender from os4depot but it won't start -
I get "Couldn't create MiniGL context" when I run it (double click icon from extracted folder).
I'm on OS 4.1 u3 on an AmigaOne, G3 Radeon 7000.
Any Ideas ? I can't tell if ***GL is working or not.

I replaced the onboard USB with a nifty little PCI job from Maplins - came with a 3.5" bay front with 3 USB ports on.

@bamiga2002
I have this issue as well - just got back off me 'ols, and fired Amiupdate up, as y'do, and now its bost ! Same symptoms, Except I'm on an A1XE, and it is OS4.1 (I've gone back to the backup after OS4.1.1 stopped on internet usage - but thats another issue!) KS is 53.8, WB is 53.1.
