Always amazes me how people are prepared to put private details into such databases.

Ok, signed up on this forum as well, to be able to answer questions about the map..

The private information that is asked about is more (or less) for validating purposes (street address, city, state, country). Later, it might be used for grouping and counting the users that have signed up (by country or city).

I respect your privacy, and I will (and have) accepted entries with almost only nonsense in the private fields, as long as the rest of the entry is useful. If you do not want to enter your full address, then don't. It is more important that you add yourself to the map, with the map-pin at least at the city you live in.

The only fields I really appreciate if everyone fills up with correct information is name, city, country and an e-mail address which I later will send you a link to a password-reset page (so you can edit your point).

None of these fields will be shown on the map or given/sold away to spammers etc.

I have seen users in the middle of the Atlantic, and some people with "kiss & bajs humor" (but on another language). Such users are placed in the trash immediately.

Btw, I am working on the editing functions right now, and it is possible (for me) to give myself a password and use it to log in.. A couple of more hours (but not tonight), and it will be ready for use by anyone.

Looks that your e-mail address was typed correctly.

There has not been sent any "welcome" mail yet, if it was the missing mail that made you think you typed something wrong.

When finished, you will be able to request your own password set/reset link from the map page (this part is finished, but not yet the information editing).

I entered an Entry for Amiga North Thames usergroup, of which I am the chairman. Its been removed. Is there any chance that a category for usergroups can be added? I am sure that would be useful to some people.

I recognize your entry, and I know that I have accepted it. The problem with a lot of dots in a crowded place is that some are less visible than the others.
Your point in the map could possibly be covered by another one. It could also be so that you just checked too early (on the preview, before I made the entry public).

A category for user groups is useful, and I will add this to the map when I'm done with the editing functions (or before). I will, as with the resellers, give this kind of point a higher priority than ordinary users.
