multiple YAM's
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

I used to start a new YAM install with newer YAM versions, and move the older installs to some other drawer. It was always possible to start up these older installs going to their drawer & clicking on the YAM icon

I think since version 2.7 this does not work any more.

If i now ty to startup a moved install, i don't get the folders of this install (at least their content) but those of the new install.

say my new install is in datas:YAM2_7 & my old is in
datas:YamOthers/YAM2_7
Both have the same folder structure, but the folders i see when launching
datas:YamOthers/YAM2_7 are those of datas:YAM2_7

There was only one instance in the ".someconfig " files in which i did find a
:YAM2-7 string which i chnaged to :YamOthers/YAM2_7 but the problem is not solved.
Any suggestion?

Do not run YAM directly but put a script like this in either drawer and run it instead:

assign YAM""
run >NILYAM:YAM

Check the ToolTypes for a MAILDIR entry pointing to the old location. And of course check all files like .config and .folders for wrong path names.

Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

Better remove the YAM: assign completely and fix all locations which still refer to it. The YAM: assign is no longer required since, let me think... YAM 2.4? Everything is handled with either full qualified path names or relative to PROGDIR:.

@ all thanks
i checked my tooltypes as tboeckel suggested.
The MAILDIR was commented out., i used it to point to the proper drawer.
Now it works OK
