Personally, the easiest way would be using docker with images from https://hub.docker.com/r/walkero/amigagccondocker/

What is Docker?

As derfs mentioned, you may want to use my docker images. But if you don't, you might find some useful information in the scripts at the following links. Those are used with the Ubuntu set up in the docker images mentioned above. In theory (which means that I haven't tried it) they could be used on any linux system as they are.

The most challenging process though would be to compile the gcc for your system. You can have a look at https://github.com/AmigaLabs/adtools

The docker images have everything included, and they are ready to be used.

A few years ago I did a presentation, which you can see at

Also, Hans has created a few excellent videos for cross compiling at

Hello fellow developers.

The last couple of days I did new releases of my docker images, including an updated version of gcc13 and clib4. Furthermore, the new gcc15 is available for anyone to use.

Now, I am working on the next one, and I need your opinion about the OpenGL libraries I should include. Since the release of Kas1e's mesa library, it was adopted by many developers and from Capehill for his SDL 2 & 3 ports. I feel that ogles and gl4es can be replaced by the mesa library SDK.

So I need your opinion on what would like to see included. Also, if you prefer multiple libraries to be included, please propose the structure ideas to avoid conflicts, but also keeping it as simple as possible for the end user.

If you are not aware of my docker GCC images for cross development, you can find plenty of information at https://github.com/walkero-gr/AmigaGCConDocker

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

To compile SDL2/SDL3 completely, you need MiniGL, ogles2 and Mesa headers installed in a way where no files are overwritten, and then some modifications to recognize USE_MESA_HEADERS to direct which .h files get loaded.

Here's an example of how that's done: https://www.amigans.net/modules/newbb/ ... id=162085#forumpost162085

It's not just those 2 files (GL/GL.h and GLES2/gl2.h), but not much more.

@MickJT

Thank you for your response. I understand what you mean, but that's when you want to compile something like SDL and support all the options.

My question is what most of the developers would use, so I can cover the majority of the people. And what we discuss here can be a good guidance to devs as well, on what is recommended to be used.

The thing that I am missing is what should be used to cover older systems, that do not support latest graphics cards.

Remove all closed source LIBS support and go for MESA, CLIB4, etc..
