Mesa Showcase Demo for AmigaOS4.1
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Hey all,

wanted to share a little demoscene showcase I put together, running fully native on AmigaOS4.1 — video and audio, no emulator, nothing borrowed. Six GLSL ES 3.00 shader scenes with crossfades, a beat pulse, and a scrolling credit, all going straight through mesa.library.

None of this would be possible without kas1e's Mesa port. Reverse-engineering the RadeonRX/RadeonHD drivers and getting real hardware-accelerated OpenGL working on this platform is a massive amount of work, done for free. This demo is just a small "look what we can do now." Thank you, kas1e!

Planning to put it up on OS4Depot soon. Happy to answer questions in the meantime.

Btw on showcasing i am looking into porting
OpenMW (morrowind!!!) and penumbra:overture
to os4 mesa.

Openmw nearly compiles though till it runs still
a lot to do. Endianness etc. (Have access to some
Endian adaptions of older Version not on the net).
My port will be based on 0.47 for technical reasons, not
0.51.

On penumbra some work on a required closedsource lib
To do but i have a good contact there which should fix
the issue ;)

Note - openmw will pretty sure be x1000 minimum (i hope
x1000 enough, x5000 should be safe), penumbra
probably x1000 plus pretty save, maybe Sam 460
(Sam pretty unsure).

Assume os4 exclusive (aros x64 might be possible),
Warpos, morphos and 68k (not even pistorm3d) impossible.

These two are possibly the most demanding ports ever
tried on AmigaOS.

I know i recently was a bit 68k focused. This will be
(Besides a possible unnamed commercial project) my
new projects for os4 - bring os4 to a new level. We will
see if it works but i am confident (and currently between jobs).
And yeah i also looked into gemrb 0.9.5 but morrowind and
Penumbra get higher priority. I was just waiting for mesa
for this, have been looking into those sources and their
Dependencies for ages ;)

For 68k people i will have gemrb 68k and some new
Pistorm3d based games ;)
