EDIT: Nevermind, I've figured it out. Despite that documentation says the boardtype tooltype overrides the file name in Devs/Monitors it doesn't and it seems the file name has to match the graphics driver name for it to be recognised. After renaming the monitor file I can select modes defined in it.
You are the same as me, personally I never bothered to add screenmodes and always used it as the installation or the driver dictates.
To this day I still have the problem that my Samsung 4k TV cannot display 640x480 resolution under AmigaOs4.1. From 720x480 it is possible again. However, I am not sure if it is really due to AmigaOs4.1 or the drivers or if it is rather a problem with my TV, which simply cannot display this resolution.
In SYS:Devs/Monitor/Radeon all sceenmodes are put in brackets, so I assume that none of them are used.
Even though it doesn't quite fit the actual topic, I wanted to let you know.
