Knock knock, anyone there?
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Did I miss something, maybe a nuclear bomb? All Amiga forums seem to be dead during the last days, no news, not many postw, nothing to discuss!? Or is everything already talked to death?
Are the peoples waiting for new court documents?
I don't believe this!

1) Hot Weather

2) Broken AOnes

3) New Hardware

pick one

Can I also pick two? It could be a combination of 1) and 2):

Hot weather leads to many broken AOnes because the fan is turning too slowly!

But I don't understand 3)

Eh, i see a pattern here, but not due to the hot weather :-/

I know at least 4 people (me included) worrying about their broken AOnes and one new that adds to the list.

Sounds like much work for JJB and Max

If the fans turning too slow, why not plug a speed measuring between and let the hardware (third party) do the spinning? Works great for me.
I got one of these and it works great.

Number 3 meant the upcoming "Red Lady" from ACube

You are telling me! Just think how much more productive our economy would be if all those little deflections wouldn't exist! Nowadays it is very difficult to keep concentrated on something for a longer time, either

-the mobile rings

-an email arrives (of course you need to read it immediately, it could be something urgent!)

-a text message arrives (of course you need to read it immediately, it could be something urgent!)

-somebody pops into your office and invites you for a coffee

-your girlfriend phones you at work, telling you that she just bought this expensive pair of shoes with your creditcard

-you need to check the news-site, because something could have happened during the last 7 minutes that you didnt check it

-you need to check Amigans.net, because a new post could have appeared

I once had an interview with a great scientist who published many papers in some great journals. He told me that when he is preparing a paper, he buys lots of coffee, completely locks his office (him being inside!), turns off his phone and disconnects the internet. Maybe this is the only way of doing it. But I think it is only possible in scientific jobs.

Whoah! Hold on there! Let's not get crazy. No need to do that.

I have been somewhat recently introduced to IRC. I think I started playing a year or two ago now. That is also a big time waster if you let it take over. I now know why some devs refuse to use IRC for anything.

LOL! The problem with the internet is that it helps me at work, e.g. when I have to look things up or download some data, but at the same time it is the biggest time waster.

It sounds stupid, but sometimes I wish some websites were down while I am at work and up again when I get home. I have never used IRC very much, but my experiences using messaging programs are the same. I am using Skype and it is also a big time waster, especially when other peoples see that you are online and send messages to you. Then you need to reply. So I always set my status to "unavailable" now, It helps a little.
