I'm on Plusnet. (Am gonna install an IRC Client on my Windows box just to check)

Just out of interest. Is Wookiechat the only OS4 native irc client left? I thought there was a copy of AMIRC that run on PPC?

Cheers

I took my MicroA1 to work and plugged it into the external network.

It doesn't work on there either.

I suspect there is an issue with OS4/Internet Prefs or Wookiechat is no longer system friendly.

I believe that leaves us with ZERO IRC Clients for OS4.

There is AMIRC 68k that you could download and try. I have the PPC version, which is now, unfortunately, not possible to be found and downloaded anymore.

Wookiechat should work fine. I just tested it and connects just fine.

Here is a screenshot of how I set it up on Wookiechat

Which version of wookiechat do you use?

If you open a shell and write the following, what do you get?

ping irc.amigans.net

THANKS!

It was the version of Wookiechat that was the issue. Was on 2.9 - Now on the last version of 2.11.

Looks like development ceased over a decade ago. Too bad, I would have given the developer a little thank you via a donation.

Cheers fella.

Already on 2.11

James left the Amiga scene some time ago and sold his Amiga. I doubt he will return.

Is the IRC service down again? Connection refused on my end. Also noticing that amigaworld.net is not responding, either.

Amigaworld website is also down.
Presumably they are linked?
