The drivers work fine on my OS4.1U6 partition
Can my OS4.1FE partition make direct use of them? If yes how?

Yes.
Better performance with mplayer. And better results in gfxbench2d. The latest driver with latest OS gives you dma making graphics faster. utilizing your gfx card better.

That's my motivatione, ok

But how can i acheave this, presently when booting with the OS4.1FE partittion it is the limited version that comes with OS4.1FE that takes over.
Can i change something in OS4.1FE startup-sequence, is there some prefs i should change?

Copy your radeonhd.chip driver from your update 6 to your final partition.

It's in sys:kickstart drawer.

If its version 0.61, then you need to replace it with v2.4. Nothing else needs to be done. Make sure v2.4 is the only driver installed.

Look, only one leg, count em, one!

Well, except for a full reboot, of course.

Correct, any change of files in Kickstart requires a cold re-boot to take effect.
