DVPlayer problems
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

See User information
Hi all

Since upgrading my SAM460 to be fitted with a Radeon HD 4260 gfx card I can no longer use DVPlayer, every time I double click it's icon to run I get yellow 'recoverable alert' warning followed by grim reaper that I have attached. When grim reaper appears I also get massive screen corruption which makes me think it's something to do with graphics but not certain! I have installed update 4 (used to happen under update 3 also) and latesr HD driver from Acube.

Here are my settings in tool types:

Sicky, for Christ's sake don't post full crash logs into a forum. Only the stack trace is useful information, all the rest is just noise.

The most important thing (that you have not posted) is what the yellow alert said (the "01000009" or whatever).

cheers

It was a recoverable alert, will post exactly what it says later.

You can edit your post and remove fully all the Libs: and Taks: , because in the 99% (or , as expirience show in 100%) when problems occurs the only real information is stack trace and data registers. But cutting off list of libs and taks will make post a better to read and easy to understand :)

If it's of any use, the yellow revcoverable alert I get with following info:

Error: 08030000

Task: 0x52CD47A0 although this one varies!

...means that Ramlib (the process that loads programs into memory) couldn't load a library of some sort. You could identify the library by downloading Snoopy from OS4Depot and running it before you try to start DvPlayer, then save the output to a file and inspect it (or post it here). The interesting part is "Ramlib" FAIL = xxx".

But it's probably going to end up the same way: I would suggest reinstalling DVPlayer to make sure that all libs are where they are meant to be.

I don't have Snoopy installed so used SnoopDos and got the following output:

I attempted to run DVPlayer from AmiDock, had yellow alert, crash and screen corruption and hit 'Kill' from GrimReaper. I have an untrained eye but maybe someone on her can spot something........ hopefully!

Forgot to mention that when I boot from OS4.1.2 CD and assign LIBS: DVPlayer works just fine, this problem started as soon as I updated to update 3 but seems nobody else has the same problem which is strange!

After much help from many people I have traced the fault. I was told that there should only be two files in Libs:Avcodecs but I had three, a52.codec, dca.codec and a file caled aften! I deleted 'aften' and now DVPlayer is working all okay, don't know how that file got there or what it was!

I'm a happy bunny now

Aften is an AC3 audio encoder. No idea why you had it in LIBS: though (C: would have been a much more logical place).

libaften.a is a static library that can be used by developers (users don't have to worry about it at all as it will be linked into any program executables that use it) who want to encode AC3 (there's no libaften.so because OS4 SDK didn't support shared objects when I made the port). The aften binary is just a commandline program that uses the libaften.a library.
