RAM and Printer advice needed.

I need a printer for my A1 whats the best choice, what does people here have fully working?

- I don't do a lot of prints, perhaps 20 a week.

- I don't NEED colour but it would be nice to have.

- It would be nice if the thing could easily connect to a PC aswell, how do I do that without having to move cable all the time? Wifi?

- Ink or laser...?

- Does it have to be postscript compatible?

-----------------------
I also need a RAM upgrade for the A1-XE as it only has 256MB installed. Back when I bought it, it was unstable with both 256Mb memory modules installed.

I would like to have it upgraded/replaced to 1Gb, does anyone have some modules laying around that works and is for sale?

Any places that sells working memory modules for the A1?

There are many people who are far better qualified than me to answer, so take this with a large pinch of salt:

You either go for:
* a VERY old HP laser printer (if you can find any on Ebay), B&W only, as these are supported very well (without needing postscript). You will also need a Centronics-to-USB adaptor, the one I bought from AmigaKit seemed to do the job fine, but YMMV.

* a VERY new laser printer that has PostScript support (and probably colour too!). These *should* work via USB, I believe, but you better check that.

It would probably be too much work to make a Windows PC act as a network printer in a way that the Amiga can use, although some clever people have apparently managed it.

I have an HP LaserJet 5L, a compact printer that uses either serial or parallel and delivers excellent B/W results. I also have an Epson Workforce 315 connected to the network which I share with my A1 and PC for color printouts and scanning.

You can get whatever printer you want.
You only need to get yourself an independent printer server (such as this one)
Then together with lpr.device all your printing needs will be fulfilled
(using it with a HP Laserjet 5L)

OK, this is not a "native" solution but who cares?
It works for the whole network, shares the printer AND takes the stress from the printer driver devs
