Yeah that's it, the I/O extender. I haven't got that problem myself as I use DVI but there are others who do. I know quite a few people are also interested in the idea of using the audio input on Sam. ( I want the audio to test with SRec )
So yeah, the sooner the better.
They are probably a bit pushed at the moment though just fulfilling back orders of Sams. Plus there was the chip issue with the Flex to sort.
Now to get back on topic. The GUI is a great addition, cheers.
SRec 1.4 has a new FOLLOWMOUSE mode. I've uploaded a video made using it here (made on my Sam440ep).
I've also uploaded a video with sound here. Unfortunately it has some noise here and there that's due to an issue with the CMI driver. Also the sound starts to lead the graphics after a while. I will look into fixing this last problem once the driver problem has been fixed.
Both video links only allow up to 10 downloads each, so don't waste them.
P?h (doh) ! How I forgot that. I do even copy it to a different place every time I download a new version. (But sometimes it feels easier to ask instead of checking hundreds of lines of code
then this only means that SRec doesn't support planar screen modes, i.e. OCS/ECS/AGA. Since SRec only runs on AmigaOS 4.1 and you can't get OS 4.1 for classic amiga, it's not really much of a limitation to be honest.
okey, my bad. so it does work with the radion driver !!! i just imagined that it didnt work. with the native driver. and that i was forced to go in to sys:prefs/p96 mode and make a screen resalution with out attach the radeon bord. (fake mode)
anyway when i hit record it stops after 1 sekund. whot am i doing worng.
is it the file name. just made one like this
ram:test and ram:test2.avi then i tryet to set up the frame per sec more then five. i am running my os in an resalution that goes, 1024/768? and then change the record resalution to the same as in my pref/scenemode
dont know whot worng.-
even iff i cant get it to work,i see it as an importent tool. maby even for suport one day.
video grapping can be done via ram these days and via harddisk recorders. the video-in thing is relly not an issue anymore
At the moment the video codecs only write about errors to stderr, which is redirected to NIL: by the GUI program, so it will fail silently if either library is missing.
I tested multiple different resolutions and it looks like all resolutions are not supported (xvid limitation ?) When pressing the record button it immediately stops right after. With one tested resolution half of the screen had correct colours but the other half was in black&white (at the same time). For example 960x600 (16:10) works correctly. But if I can remember it right resolution of 1280x800 (16:10) gave me that half black&white screen (in the recorded video, I mean). Multiples of 640x480 (4:3) usually works correctly. But any strange res.' doesn't. So is xvid/avi container limited to standard VGA resolutions or something ? Or is it something else (limitation in graphics drivers ?) ? (My WB screen mode is 1680x1050 (16:10)).
Rock lobster bit me - so I'm here forever X1000 + AmigaOS 4.1 FE "Anyone can build a fast CPU. The trick is to build a fast system." - Seymour Cray
I think I used DvPlayer (registered version) first and then tested also with Mplayer.
(Edit:) (Oops ) I did it again and I can confirm that the result is always same with both DvPlayer and Mplayer. 1120x700 (16:10) and anything above gives me that half (not exactly half but 2/3) black&white picture. For example 1040x650 (16:10) (or anything #?x?50) gives me distorded picture (stripes) (both players). 960x600 (16:10) (#?x?00) and anything lesser gives me correct picture. (Not necessarily related to Srec but this is interesting anyway.)
