@All I think for the time being i go just the option route without localization (so to avoid mess for now) and for next betas, we can discuss how to handle it all better, and then localization can be added, etc. As i want to make os4depot release of what we have already.
-- Updated some catalogs. -- Added script from Walkero to fix GitHub a little so it didn't look _that_ broken on our old WebKit core. -- Added option in prefs/secure to allow unauthorized self-signed certs (while not secure it is still HTTPS).
The only thing i can worry about now for the os4depot release is if there is some bug in the self-signed option arising. if all ok in that terms => then os4depot.
@Skateman Aha got it. I think we will revisit the whole thing (with proper window etc) for later betas, just now we need to make an os4depot release and to have something which already works.
@Raziel ignore SSL errors were ignore all errors but not self-signed certs for that one some additional settings for curl should be set (which I do + add option to enable/disable that).
in other words, it just didn't handle before self-signed certs at all and drop the connection as "error".
@Samo79 Aha cool :) At least a bit of improvements better than none at all :)
@All Thanks all for contributing, testing, helping and all that stuff :) Granted that is not the latest WebKit core but still usable for many amiga needs.
And just you all need to remember: on all big-endian platforms (not only PPC but all of them), users have issues with browsers not working here and here. Does not matter if it is Linux or amigaos4 or Mac or morphos: damn "modern" programmers driven by big corporations and politics (can't believe I say so for real today) fucked up the whole web quickly and made everyone cry who around 35 years and more and who remember how the web was and how it can be even with modern stuff.
I assume soon or later we will end up with some "USB browser hardware dongles" which we will just use somehow from os4 or something of that sort as it happens with other technologies back in past.
Amiga and AmigaOS it's not about web browsing and that for sure :) We can do only little bits here and here to enjoy our OS of choice without all that damn bloated "memory protection" viruses and trojans and ads. Hope it will be continued to be like this for the next 10 or even 20 years :)
