quake2 problems

I'm trying to run quake2, but getting an error when i try to start the game.

ERROR: model
models/deadbods/dude/tris.md2 has
a skin taller than 480
shutdowngame

Any idea to fix this?

Just a random thought.
Try replacing the skin with another working one renamed to tris.md2?
AmigaOne X1000.
