@thread
Looks like the 'hotfix' released earlier this morning addressed this. At least it doesn't crash any more. I wonder what the root cause of this was....

IBrowse 2.5.7 crashes on startup

@Futura Looks like something broke when I installed the latest IBrowse build -- 2.5.7 -- from AmiUpdate. During program startup, around the time the progress bar mentions parsing download history, I get a fatal DSI that I cannot get past. This is on my X5000 with the latest OS beta components. Have any other testers hit something similar?

@sailor Quote: And I am also not sure about AmiTCP speed, but I am looking forward for its routing ability. Roadshow lacks it ( and old MiamiDX had ). And bond / etherchannel will be also great. Especially for Sam440. I'm interested to understand what AmiTCP has that Roadshow doesn't. When it was mentioned in the A-EON presentation at AmiWest as coming in Enhancer V54, I didn't understand the rationale of replacing our IP stack. Can someone detail the advantages of a native AmiTCP over Roadshow; can someone detail the disadvantages? -- eliyahu

@thread OK, before I pester Hans or HunoPPC with a bug report, I wanted to see if anyone can replicate my issue. For sometime with NovaBridge I am no longer able to get Quake Darkplaces to launch successfully. It quits soon after loading all the textures/sounds/etc. Here is the log I gathered:

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately different screenmodes, including 8-bit vs 24-bit color depth, still results in a black drawing area. I also tried using high-precision math-mode, no difference there, either.
And I can never quit the SPE version no matter what I do, whether selecting 'Quit' from the menu bar or with the keyboard shortcut.
Any other ideas?

The SPE binary launches just fine, and reports drawing the initial fractal set in 'realtime' on average. The only problem is the drawing area is all black, e.g., nothing is drawn that I can see. This is the same for every screen mode I try.
Also -- I can't seem to quit the program, either. The requester never comes up. The normal OS4 binary works fine. I'd love to collect debug data for you. How can I help?

Is there any way to prevent OpenGLES2 from always saving a .gl4es.psa file? I have to remove it from the directory every time I start the game or I end up with a black screen.

@kas1e I must be doing something wrong. The latest build on OS4Depot just gives me a black screen. The previous release worked just fine. Here's the output I'm getting from the console:

@amig_os
I just tried emailing Daniel at the address you posted, but got an 'undeliverable' message back. Is there another that might work?

@FirstNinjaQuote: Since there isn't a single photo of the Amiga 1222 (you read that right - not a single photo showing the product), how this should be interpreted is anyone's guess. Assuming, however, that there are two different PCI slots - one rated with x4 speed, and one with x16 speed, would it be doable to install a Catweasel 4 PCI floppy controller as well as a Radeon graphics card into the motherboard? Nope, there is only one physical PCIe x16 slot on the board itself. You cannot plug more than one card without some sort of PCIe fan-out adapter, which would most likely require kernel support. -- eliyahu

@amigakit Quote: You should be asking- what will Hyperion do in the present and the future to help this community? No threads here about that I notice. It is not a diversion to point out that consumers can make a buying decision to buy the Enhancer Software or wait for Hyperion's solution (Gallium 3D, Snap 2D video drivers etc). There are tens of such threads, but I think at this point the reason there aren't any more is that everyone has effectively given up on Hyperion. They have no plan, no paid developers, no nothing except a few dedicated folks who still volunteer their time fixing bugs and doing what they can. We already know that Hyperion isn't going to deliver anything significant anymore on its own. So, in a way, I suppose you can take the criticism/feedback from users here as a compliment -- A-EON has effectively replaced Hyperion as the lead developer behind the operating system at this point. Which is why the focus is on your plans from now on. Some will be pleased, some not; you're going to hear from everyone if you want to be the de facto platform owner. Can I suggest a public Q&A session at this year's AmiWest, perhaps, to clear up intentions and plans? I think it would be very well received. -- eliyahu

@thread
SO EXCITED!!! My X5000 has been waiting for this since it was first announced some time ago. The graphics, the game style, and the audio seem just perfect for me. Very pleased it's finally coming to the Amiga platform.

@imagodespira Quote: For me, the Enhancer should only have Software and not GFX drivers. I would be happy to pay a GFX Suite like "Radiance" every year with some updates or a subscription to pay the development. Absolutely. I have yet to meet a single X5000 customer that really wants command replacements, replacements for DefIcons, replacements for Exchange, replacements for ..., etc. We like what AOS4 already provides. What we want aren't replacements with barely any enhancements. We want the graphics stack. Quote: Beside this, in our groups and on meetings the most users use the enhancer install only for graphics drivers and don´t install the rest. So you never will know how much components are really used and needs to maintain over so much years. For single software, a Store would be nice, then you know by sales how users like it.
I understand your problem with Hyperion updates. But currently we have a working official OS4.1. I never would install any replacement parts. We also will not use these parts as it is more support (now: with every little problem we have to check if a user has installed Enhancer Components). Our software is aimed for OS4.1 and we are happy to support additional drivers but not Enhancer components. Bingo! This is what the customers want. Enhancements to the OS are welcome. Replacements just so ownership is different, not so much. I wish A-EON would listen. It'd be terrific if Matthew could make AmiWest this year. We'd love the opportunity to discuss this in-person. -- eliyahu

@Raziel Quote: Brr, site is broken in Odyssey, just a long line of letters True -- but you can click on the 'Download' button at the top of the page and get to the download just fine. At least it works for me. @imagodespira Quote: Frank has ported some games for Warp3D Nova to see how it runs. It may not run as smooth as we want, maybe a next version of drivers can bring a bit more fps. We will see...
Our newer games have more graphics and it may be too much for our AmigaOS Computers. We have to try ;) You're always guaranteed at least one sale here. Heh. By the way, if you're looking for feedback, my votes for the next games to target for AmigaOS would be Super Star Blast and the Radon titles. Those are the ones I'm hoping for the most. -- eliyahu

No idea if this has been out for a while, or is new this year, but just purchased the AmigaOS version of M.A.C.E. Tower Defense from https://entwicklerx.itch.io/mace-tower-defense for just $5! It requires Warp3D Nova and runs beautifully on my X5000. If you like Swamp Defense, basically the same game with different graphics and a slight twist. Great to see Entwickler-X still supporting the Amiga community in 2022! -- eliyahu
