Shogo have installed successfully however it freezes as soon as the ShogoLauncher window is displayed. The same with demo version.
IIRC that happens when the launcher is searching for CD drives, if you manually set the CD tooltypes it's working, for example add
CDDADEVICE=sii0680ide.device
CDDAUNIT=2

Btw. what about Shogo? No go? Anyone?
Hardware 3D, especially on Radeon cards: Forget it. On my Voodoo3 the 1st level was nearly working correctly, but later there are lots of missing walls, etc.
IIRC using software rendering worked correctly here with the demo version of Shogo. With the default font the texts are messed up, only the top half or 3/4 is displayed, but using another font they are displayed correctly, the font can be changed in one of the config files. The intro doesn't work (it doesn't crash, you just get a black screen or some flickering). Most WarpOS games had problems with AHI with the OS4 powerpc.library, especially background music, if you get crashes try with sound and/or music disabled (I don't remember if the Update4 version of powerpc.library did that itself for Shogo, some versions included special workarounds for some games).

Where can I find OS4 compatible ixemul library please?
here.

But for the games it doesn't help much, you may be able to install them with the OS4 ixemul.library, but you can't run WarpOS software on OS4 final since it doesn't include a powerpc.library. Don't install an old version of powerpc.library, the old versions do not work on OS4 final.
If you want to run WarpOS software you have to install OS4 Update4 as well and boot from the Update4 partition, incl. loading the Update4 kickstart modules, whenever you want to run WarpOS software.

In the initial version the formatting was messed up on page 3. That's probably the only change.

Not for normal crashes, even the inital requester is in GrimReaper, only for ramlib crashes there is a requester in reaper.

I found that if I rename/remove/replace the GrimReaper file then even the initial requester does not come up.
However if I copy c:reboot to utilities/grimreaper it does not started by a crash.
C:Reboot doesn't work with the arguments passed to GrimReaper, try a script with something like
Reboot FAST
as SYS:System/GrimReaper. Don't forget to set the 'S' protection bit when using a script.

Is there a proper way to capture the crash by changing the GrimReaper file and after handled it somehow (eg.: play a sound) then call the original GrimReaper?
Rename GrimReaper, for example to RealGrimReaper, and use a script as SYS:System/GrimReaper:
.key ARGS/F
.bra {
.ket }
soundplayer path:to/crashsound
RealGrimReaper {ARGS}

This is the function I am using (from latest public SDK):

Ok, then probably only the 64 bit directory scanning functions like ExamineDir() were not in the SDK yet.

The latest v52.3 version I uploaded to OS4Depot today should have working NSD64 support. If you could try it out with your filesystem it would be appreciated.
I've tested it successfully with a 4,546,701,312 bytes image file.

IIRC the ICD0 mountlist included in the old, m68k versions of diskimage.device is ok (a lot of it is for CacheCDFS, but it's ignored by CDFileSystem and doesn't cause problems). You just have to make sure it includes DosType = 0x43443031, LowCyl = 0 and BlockSize = 2048.
Thanks for that. I'll try it out if I can find/make some smaller DVD iso files to test with.
You can remove everything after the StackSize line from?CD1 and CD2, the "Control" options in these mountlists are only supported by CacheCDFS and are ignored by CDFileSystem.
You should use different names for the diskimage.device mountlists, if someone has 2 CD/DVD drives installed he has a CD1: already, and on classic Amigas at least DF0: is always there (unless the floppy drive is broken). An icon for DiskImageGUI should be included, even if it's just the def_tool one, if you put it into SYS:WBStartup without icon it's not started.

There were bugs in the large file support, for example image files > 4 GB didn't work with my CD/DVD burning tool, but I currently don't have free HD space to create a SFS2 partition for checking what's wrong and fix it, therefore it's removed.
There was no interrest in it anyway, AFAIK the only programs in which large file support was added are lha and DvPlayer, both done by OS4 developers or beta testers who didn't need SFS2 for testing the large file support in their software.

Quote:
I'm going to need a filesystem capable of handling files >4GB if I'm to test the mounting of DVD images with diskimage.device (I have just implemented NSD64/TD64 support but have yet to test it).

NSD64 is only half of what you need, the image file has to be accessed using 64 bit offsets as well. OS4 final includes the 64 bit dos.library functions, but IIRC they were not in the last public SDK yet. You'd have to write custom functions using the old, 32 bit dos functions as workaround. That's of course possible, but it's more work.
If the 64 bit dos.library functions were not in the last public SDK yet and the new diskimage.device is for AmigaOS4 only I could sent you a small link library with some 64 bit functions, but if you want to support AmigaOS 3.x as well you'll have to write your own functions based on the old 32 bit functions anyway.
I have another file system with 100% working large file support, if you sent me a beta version of diskimage.device I can test if it works correctly with files > 4 GB.

It is the Friedens and the other OS4 developers who have been working hard on Amiga OS during the last years!

So I wish THEM all the best. Maybe Hyperion looses in this lawsuit. But this doesnt mean that the Friedens will go down the drain with them, because they are not employees of Hyperion. I think there is a future even if the Friedens sign a deal and work for Amiga corporation in the future.
Who should rewrite the OS4 parts the other OS4 developers did, or replacements for the contributions included in Hyperion's AmigaOS4 releases, in such a case?
As long as Amiga Inc. doesn't accept the rights of the other developers it's very unlikely anyone would even want to work with them, and reimplementing everything from scratch by other, uninvolved developers, who don't know anything about these parts, would take a lot of time.
Without Hyperion and/or (a large part of) the other OS4 developers there is no way there will be anything running an AmigaOS4 which is even remotely comparable to the current version, at least not this year, and very likely not next year either.

harder you say...

well, enabling the 'harder' part means just switching one bit in command from '0' to '1' (that's tough, isn't it) and there you go.
Stopping everything else from accessing the device, matching deferred error to the command which caused them, etc. is.

But you are right, your method is much harder, if not impossible: To be able to use non-immediate commands with group 2 or 3 time outs you'd have to know the internal time outs of all existing AmigaOS device drivers, which are usually much smaller than the MMC group 2 or at least the group 3 time out ...
I know them at least for all AmigaOS4 PPC native drivers and could use some non-immediate commands, although it wouldn't make any sense, since I know which ones I can use with which driver and which one I can't use in my old AmigaOS4-only CD/DVD burning software by limiting it to the device drivers which are included in AmigaOS4, but I very much doubt you know them

Quote:
oh, btw. remember that since your commands are performed 'immediately' some drives will eject your dvd-rw before the deicing is performed. that will screw the disc completely, but i guess you're aware of that ;) you took the 'harder' way after all :)
If a drive allows ejecting the disc although it was forbidden with PREVENT ALLOW MEDIUM REMOVAL it's simply broken, not my problem.

afaik this is "normal behavior". at least this is like it always has been working here.
cleaning or finalizing a cd is always locking everything. this was the case with my old a4000 and cybppc and this is the case now with the a1 and a sil controler.

i have no idea why this "must" be like this - maybe someone else can? it is usually annoying.
It shouldn't, and doesn't have to be that way. It's just easier to implement that way

I could send you my burning tool for testing, currently burning DVD-Rs doesn't work and you can only burn images < 4 GB with it (SFS2 doesn't help, it had a bug which makes it fail with larger files), but everything else should work. Send me a PM or E-Mail if you want to check if you have the same problems with it, if not it's a bug in the burning software you are currently using, if you have the same problem with my program something else in your system is wrong.

I've uploaded a new version to the SFS homepage with the timed out requesters for successfull operations removed.

It's not important for AmigaOne users, but on classic Amigas you usually can't see these requesters anyway since they are displayed on a PAL screen, before the gfx card drivers are loaded and IPrefs was started.

I know how to do it on AOS1.3.3, which is alter the highcylinder (I think it was) in the mountlist file, then "mount RAD: from mountlist".

But there isn't a mountlist file anywhere here on the HD.

Can anyone tell me all the steps to do to make it please?
In AmigaOS4 final there is a RAD mountlist in Storage/DOSDrivers and Documentation/Kickstart/ramdrive_dev.doc which describes how to create a RAD: which survives a reboot.

For that you don't even have to change any code (or only very few which has builtin hardcoded paths instead of using the ones from configure), simply (re)configure und (re)build everything with --prefix=/cygnix, just like it was done in GeekGadgets (there it was --prefix=/gg or --prefix=/ade instead).
