@shadowsun

Sorry but I'm sure porting AOS 3.x to PPC and adding all the new features would beat that. They've mentioned memory protection and runing old application in sandbox so that might be what they talk about... maybe...

I just tried this function (didn't realize that it existed in owb :-O) and it worked great on this page, I could see all the sourcecode.

I agree completly... how lazy are people? It might seem like an easy to access idea but I hate it! I use the file handlers for this now and allways have... where the directory is and how to use it is for the creative mind to decide :) ...

Windows way annoyce me like h*ll

@Mikey_C

Well, you allready said it! ... but yes, I do use windows 7 but switches back to aos 4.1 pretty often since windows gets on my nerves. I just love using aos 4.1 and all the nice programs. Windows are used pretty much for a couple of sites that doesn't work in aos 4 browsers yet and for a few games.

Also, aos 4 feels very fast compared to windows 7 (it shall become fast again... yeah right) ...

I enjoy using aos 4 more than enything else as simple as that.

@Antique

To me it's the ultimate browser but yes it needs to be updated. I'm currently using only OWB most of the times since it's fast and works pretty well most of the times.

But IBrowse 3.0 is like a wet dream ... Just like v1.0 and 2.0 was and also the updates... It's *the* browser to me. It is simply too good to die.

That is the maximum refresh rate. It supports lower than 100Hz as well.

I too agree it's horrible that noone cares about the software that you've written. I've tried it and it's really nice... I'm using a Vista machine right now but I tried it a little on my AOS 4.1 machine and it worked great! I love it and hope that more people take the time to install and use it.

@TiredOfLife

It sounds weird, yes. Have you tried another USB port? Tried E-UAE for example as well?

It seems like not every joystick are good. I've bought three and the first joystick is ok while the other two has the left respectively the right mouse button not giving a click sound and you must press it pretty hard for it to work.

@LiveForIt

ab3d 2 with the rtg patch still required a 68060 to be playable in full screen so I think that it won't be playable under E-UAE with the current CPU emulation in E-UAE.

However I'm much more intrested in being able to play AB3D again. Xtreme racing is another game that would be nice to play again... flyin high... trapped... capital punishment (if it runs, I haven't tried it under emulation)... Even though it's a 2D game I think that it might run too slow since bodyblows galactic aga wasn't runing at full speed the last time I tried it.

@ChrisH

I think that the CPU emulation in itself isn't the issue but it's hard to emulate AGA. Even 2D AGA games seems slower in E-UAE than OCS games. O belive that the JIT emulation makes up for the AGA emulation being slow. Real AGA and a 020 could run AB3D 1 AFAIK. Allthough I never ran it on anything but an a4k with a 030 @ 25MHz...

Me too want it to be playable under aos 4.1 (e-uae) so I hope that a solution will be available pretty soon. That game is very good. I got far on my a4k I can remember but I never finished it.

@tonyw

I got issues with USB sticks and CrossDOS as well. I tried to copy a 1GB+ file and it would allways crash forcing a hard reset while smaller files works fine. I tried to copy the same file for about 5 times in different ways with the same result.

I seem to recall that the amigaos 4.1 CD gives poor results on some CD/DVD devices. It does on the two that I have compared to the burned CDs of AOS 4.0 that I have and I think that it might be the reason?

Very nice version! ... also for some reason earlier versions used 90-100% C PU when the "SAM" text at this page was showed (if I scrolled down to hide them it went down). It doesn't get that high anymore...

Besides is that normal and has it happened to anyone else?

I agree, it's too slow . It seems like modern browsers are quite slow on the amigaone platform though as mozilla firefox in linux isn't exactly snappy either .
