but people might be sick of playing the same games for years... I'd rather they spend the time on new stuff, like operating system components and features.

If they did re-release os4 native versions, I'd buy them though.

I think Rogue already responded to this on aw.net. I'll do a search and try and find it.

They are completely new for me! Moreover, I still have not played some of them yet even though I've paid for them...

it is true the game are always the same, but please consider that these are the only 3D good games that we have now on amiga os..

And consider also that many amiga user have also bought an amiga one or a micro ( like me ) to play its preferred game with a good frame rate

With the amiga 1200+PPC+ all the other things never gave you a good frame rate with some games..

Consider that are " only " 4 games ( Quake2, HereticII, Shogo, Freespace )

Surely having those game ported directly to OS4 would be great, but personally I think that if you can playing them better with a PowerPC.library, Hyperion can concentrate his efforts with some kind of new games

Just my 2 cents

Right now chances for ports of these games are pretty slim beyond what has already been released, for a number of reasons:

- Hyperion is working on OS 4 and hence does not have much free capacity
- Free updates would mean unpaid work, something that Hyperion cannot afford at this time.

I'm sorry, I would prefer things to be different.

(usual disclaimer, I don't speak for Hyperion)

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

Fair enough, if there's no OS there's no place to play.

Let me draw the trolls towards me ...

*clearing throat*

"If you want new, completely fresh games, get a console,
never, and i say never, touch anything with Windows on,
yes, also buildings, they are filthy!
Walls are bad too, they could have gates."

hehe

On a different subject.
Being a non-OS4-betatester but very curious about the
ongoing development, is there something like a public
viewable bug database (something sourceforge offers i.e.)
for OS4? Or something like an up-to-date roadmap or simply
a list of tasks that are being worked on right now?

I believe not, but i wanted to ask this for a long time

Thanky ou very much

There is a database (of course), but it's not open to the public.

Betatesters and developers often add bugs that have been highlighted by forum posters but not detected by betatesters.

I never owned a really powerful classic machine so I am like Amikit on this one. It would have been nice to experience some of those games. I have most now as they stand and am quite happy with them probably all apart from Shogo (I do own the Mac (also Hyperion) version and have just bought a Mac Mini G4).

Having said that I totally understand the situation and would rather the OS developed further to a point where other companies/developers may take up game development/porting

Just out of interest a few years back you were developing your own media player (mp3?), did you go on with that or has it lapsed or just become your private reward to yourself-:) Maybe TuneNet has scared you off! -:)

Thanks for your ongoing commitment to OS4 and the community.
