Leuven, Belgium - 26. January, 2009

Hyperion Entertainment is proud to announce the availability of the Software Development Kit Version 53.13 for AmigaOS 4.1.

The new SDK features the gcc 4.2.4 compiler, binutils 2.18 (with support for the PowerPC 440ep), as well as updated header files and autodocs for AmigaOS 4.1.

The SDK download is available for all interested parties via anon access at Hyperions FTP Server:
ftp://hyperion-entertainment.biz/SDK

The SDK is available in two versions: A "noncontrib" version that only contains the compiler and tools plus the documentation and header files for AmigaOS 4.1, and a "Lite" version that contains additional contributions.

sorry for the dumb question, but I was wondering where to get an SDK for AmigaOS 4.0 classic?

Great news. Looking forward to install it. Is there a newer IDE for GUI implementation?

Re: New AmigaOS 4.1 SDK available
Just in time for me to port OpenOff... Oh, I forgot, my CPU module died.

(My apologies for being sarcastic)

This does explain why the Hyperion site has been down for the past few weeks. I guess I can finally register my copy of OS4.1... even though I've got to find something upon which to run it.

It is advised to delete the old sdk installation or we can overwrite it ?.. that's only for the third party library installed..

Good work Hyperion and all volunteers that helped in releasing this.

But why on hearth the OS 4.1 SDK is illustrated by an image of the AmigaDE SDK

I would rename your existing SDK folder then do a fresh install.

You can then copy over any third party stuff later.

This is FANTASTIC!!!!

Hyperion Entertainment (all parties involved) is going from strength to strength to stre....

I hope today's achievement solidifies resolve against hesitancy to buy Sam 440EP, unless you're holding out to buy a new faster 1 GHz + model!!! (At least in that case e-mail ACube to explain your continued interest in their products!!!!)

Congratulations!!!

Yes. But do remember to also unassign SDK:, e.g. by removing the assign from the startup and rebooting. Also remove/comment out the call to the SDK startup script unless you want to look at error messages because it can no longer find it .

Best regards,

Niels

Err ... how do you mean?

P.S. Not trying to stir anything up, just genuinely curious as I simply can't think of any possible connection myself.

Why. Installing the new SDK should set up the assign again anyway - just do that before rebooting.

You don't want to have SDK: pointing at your old installation while installing a new fresh one (which it *will* do even if you renamed the directory - the assign obeys the rename and now points to the renamed object), otherwise you risk having some of the links made by the installation point to the old versions.

Best regards,

Niels

You can move the Local folder out of the installed SDK, remove the old SDK, and then later move the backed up Local folder back into the SDK directory...

I rebuilt the Workbench File Lister project on openamiga.org on the 4.1 SDK.

Download here:
http://openamiga.org/?function=viewfiles&projectid=20

Could someone with 4.0 download and see if it runs?

Hi Thomas!

Thanks for the good news. Already read about that yesterday evening (CET) on amiga-news.de. But now I'm even more curious to give it a try. :)
