![]() Sounds great! Many thanks to all who were involved in brining 4.1 about.
I will certainly buy it when it becomes available. (I just wish that I could install a graphics card in the empty PCI slot of my ?A1). |

![]() Looks like the new lister mode has room for more improvement.
- There's no address bar - There's no navigation buttons - No quick button for devices - No quick search button - No quick button for view modes Perhaps improving it is a project suitable for Open Amiga? ;) |

To be fair, none of those things are in the icon view mode either! (Why do you want an address bar? It's not a web browser) |

Heh icon view mode is as useless as it gets so I wouldn't bother doing much with those. Except perhaps adding an icon view mode to a real file lister that you can select if you really wish to (Though I don't see why people want icons view mode, except to look at pretty icons). Look at dopus and magellan for a proper file lister. The address bar is for entering a path directly. Like "dh0:mu/bah" or "ftp://user@site". Call it path bar if your wish. |

It's a lot easier to find what you're looking for in icon view mode - if you're launching programs that is. List view is better for manipulating files. Icon mode + show all files is completely useless, especially as at some point in the past somebody removed the code that sorted the files into alphabetical order before they were displayed. If I choose Show All Files I always pickSort By Name as well, unless I know there are only going to be a couple to choose from. Path bar and toolbar - probably more useful when WB gets a "single window browse" mode rather than opening new windows for each drawer opened. I'm happy with keyboard shortcuts and the menu anyway, I always turn the address and tool bars off in Windows too ![]() |

Quote: probably more useful when WB gets a "single window browse" mode rather than opening new windows for each drawer opened. Thats' what I'm talking about, the new lister mode does not match up to a proper file lister which is why it's still a candidate for an Open Amiga project. |

![]() Indeed good news, but I wait and wait, for OS4 to be ported to the PS3.
I have stayed away from Amiga forums since the stupid legal battle. Lurking, waiting for some indication that things might start moving again. The OS4.1 is an improvement, but for God's sake, whatever the legal squabbles - get OS4 onto the PS3 where there is some hope of market success. It would not hurt A-Cube, in fact, PS3 implementation of OS4 would provide more market room for an OS compatible board. |
