Wpw! First Update 3, and now THIS! Posting from 3.0 which seems to be working remarkably well for an Alpha.
Thank you! Paul |

A huge thanks!!! Trying under QEmu and for a first alpha it feels very nice. A taste of what's to come and all the work being done.

Thanks Andrea,
I tried it on my system but unfortunatly it crashes at startup. I tried it with update 3 and i have also copied the clib inside libs directory of system partition.

@nubechecorre
If you got an A1222 it happens on mine too so I guess that's how it's.

Launched ok, did the fonts thing ok, GUI looks nice, but my system froze up solid and I had to reboot to recover.
I think I don't have enough RAM. MicroA1 with IBM PowerPC 750 GX CPU and 256 MB RAM Cheers, redfox |

Thank you for it. I am typing now from the current aplha version. And today I will do more tests on my x5000. Last days we have good news in OS4 world I hope that that will keep going!

Hi Andrea!
Thank you very much for your work on getting v300a running and out in the wild! I installed it on my X5K (running an older beta OS build), copied the clib to LIBS:, downloaded the fonts and I tried running it a few times. From the HD it ran and I went to Amigans & AmigaOS.net, quit and got a lockup. Only then I started capturing serial and tried running a copy of the install directory from RAM: Twice I just ran Odyssey and then quit and get a lockup and captured similar partial DSIs in the serial output. Does it have issues with the RAM FS? Finally I ran it again from HD, it started, I quit it and then ran it a second time and got another lockup and DSI on serial. After another reboot and running from HD, I was able to log into github, but I wasn't able to start an issue (running from RAM). So I'll post the serial logs for you here: https://www.pjsa.net/Odd-v300a-Crashlogs-102525.txt I hope this all helps with your development! Thanks again! PJS |

I get a DSI about font cache.
Haven't been able to get past that on the A1222.

@HOTROD:
> I get a DSI about font cache. Haven't been able to get past > that on the A1222. That's a known problem. Please update the clib library (the version no. maybe similar but the size is different). |

Using the one from the browser-archive like nubechecorre.
I tried with the one from the archive first, then with other 2.0-releases and finally back to the one in the archive and none of them work for me on the A1222.
Under QEmu it works fine. Are you sure that it's supposed to be working on the A1222?

Well, I've no A1222 but QEmu & Sam440ep. Don't know much about this machine. You can report it at https://github.com/AmigaLabs/OdysseyWebBrowser/issues if no other A1222-User can help..

Nothing's mentioned in the readme and from what I can tell, unless someone's lying it's working for everyone except me.
And I don't care enough to bother and pretend that I've screwed smt up and use what works instead. Right now v1.23 r5. IBrowse, NetSurf, AmiFox, browservice, VNC, RDesktop, smartphone etc etc etc. There are options. A600GS... It isn't all that exciting to see it render a couple of pages correctly before you have to reboot, I've seen that under QEmu now. Cool. Great. This weird behaviour has always the same cause and I won't spend time and energy amongst retarted criminals... To those it concerns, they know who they are. They have lowered themselves far beyond name-calling, they just try to be sneaky about it and create a situation of "we" and "you". Seems to be working well. Bully people to death with projection and blameshifting that isn't even about me. I wonder for how long that madness shall work. Anyhow, mad ppl, then it's not worth the effort. Like afxgroup wouldn't know if it's an issue or not long before the release? That's redicilous. |

@hotrod
The browser is in early alpha stage, and no one said it is the final product. But if you continue talking about people in this way, disparaging their work and what they offer free of charge, I am afraid that I will be forced not only to delete your messages, but also give you a nice ban from the website.
This is not the first time you are doing it and this is not the first time you've been warned.
Try to be kind to the rest of the community and the people who devote time and energy.
If you prefer to use any other system that has a better browser, feel free to do it, but please stop derailing discussions and talking that way for the developers.

I hope Odyssey Web Browser 3.0.0 will be a success. Kudos to all involved.
At this early alpha stage, it requires more RAM than is availble on my ancient OS4 system. But it does launch and the GUI looks nice. My OS4 system is a MicroA1 with 256 MB RAM. This is a tiny amount of RAM compared to what other people are using for OS4. Today, I thought I would see what happened if I changed the screenmode from 32 bit to 16 bit. This actually allowed me to go a little bit further with Odyssey Web Browser 3.0.0 Alpha1. I was able to display the Amigans website. Then Odyssey locked up. Cheers, redfox |
