![]() Why not? They've been holding it back for literally years for no good reason, so if there was any date you might expect them to show some signs of life it'd be today

![]() Great news, will be trying on my Pegasos II.
I also have A1222+ but noticing this part below:
New, updated kernels for the X5000, X1000, AmigaOne, Pegasos II, Sam460, Sam440, and Classic Amiga systems, featuring upgraded cache handling and DMA operation on supported hardware.
Was there any reason why the A1222+ is not getting update 3?

![]() Yeah ! Better than never! Big thanks to Costel and Tim who made this happens again.
This of course not full blow update with everything latest, as most of it keeps for 4.2, but still there quite good fixes and addons : like , dma support for x5k in graphics.library (improve FPS for 3d games on RX/HD cards), or, like fixes for x5k kernel allowing again using GDB, or like bunch of fixes in classes, updated roadshow, etc. Maybe that not enough for few years of waiting after update2, but we all know how messy situation was.. The only thing some of us may miss there as well, is that in this release we don't have very latest kernel with pegasos2 fixes allowing us to use bridges for HD/RX cards, but that purely because the "team lead of exec-sg" , can't understand that there were a bug on x5k which need to be fixed for 2 years, and at the release of update3 it was too late. So, there is hope for 4.2 which someday may happens. Anyway, hats off to Costel (and others, of course) who spent many months cleaning up the mess left by the previous director in all the related areas. |

![]() @boabster
My understanding is that the A1222+ already has the matching kernel version, and therefore has no kernel update for it in Update3, but that Update3 otherwise still applies to the A1222+ boards with what else it has in it. So no need to feel left out - I just think you were treated with the kernel version ahead of the rest :) |

![]() Yes, overall the system has become faster... Network connection is noticeable and I can also feel the improvement in the WB with folders containing many icons. And of course, many bugs have been fixed. It's still not a major update that expands AmigaOS 4.1 as a whole, but it's something that makes AmigaOS 4.1 work better overall, and I'm very happy about that.
Now that the major issues seem to have been resolved, I am looking to the future with confidence....
Thanks for FE Update 3. I had no problems after updating my machine.

![]() presumably this is stuff you know from being beta tester and thus is under NDA? You seem to have high regard for 'Costel and Tim' who are both known to be pretty nasty pieces of work, so good luck in not getting sued by them.

![]() Thanks for the update. I used AmiUpdate to complete the update.
The only casualties I have found so far are AmiDVD, NetSurf 3.11 and Snoopy. Meanwhile, network seems to be much improved. Thanks, redfox |

![]() No it didn’t. This was sort of expected to be released soon. Just the exact date was Not known.
Hell actually froze over when I released retroarch for MorphOS though (In my mind I called it the „it‘s a gold day in hell release“ ;)) |

I had hope to see behind the bridges after FE upd3, but things are how they are. Anyway welcomed update, there is still goon bits and parts included. Im considering to buy new system, where I can use modern gfx-cards (by Amiga standards). |
