In some ways similar, but some stuff is completely different. Some things are handled with completely different API.
Basically they made it a more "modern" API, SDL1 is actually depracated on PC ("recommendation: not to be used anymore" - which is also why now often software appears which has no SDL1 path anymore, or where the SDL1 path turns out to be broken).

@Capehill: Thanks for the list which shows how much more is in it (and you of course know SDL better than any other Amiga user ^^).
I BTW started working on the 68k port yesterday. I will start working on the WarpOS version as soon as on 68k I have at least some stuff which is testable.
The final version will be set up on github in OpenSource.

IMHO the best option is to fork the upstream project either in public or private mode. That will help to keep the change history and simplify when you need to update the baseline after new releases. |
