No sooner said than done, we fired up our layout programme and programming environment for you and ended up with a small but fine piece of hardware called Langley. In response to many customer requests, we managed to build a kick-start switch that switches directly via the keyboard and does so at runtime.
We are pleased to present the new multifunctional hardware Langley 1200. The current main function of the adapter is to switch the 4 banks (Kickstarts) on the two KickRom flash modules of the Amiga 1200 with the help of the keyboard. For this, however, the switch package for the Amiga 1200 with two cables and two connection adapters is also required, which was also used with the previous switches.
The special thing about switching via the Langley is that the Amiga does not have to be switched off for this, as was the case with earlier solutions. After the switchover, only a reset has to be carried out and another Kickstart is loaded.<br><br> In addition, the Langley can record and play back inputs via the keyboard (macro function). Up to 10 different input sequences can be saved and played back.
Further interesting functions are being planned and can be implemented by updating the firmware. These include keyboard adapter functionalities and also the control of LED lighting and much more.
The hardware is simply installed on the CIA chip of the Amiga 1200 and is also compatible with the Indivision MK3 from iComp.
Further Langley variants for the Amiga 600 and 500 are already being planned and will have the same or at least similar functions.
The Langley 1200 adapter can be ordered from the online shop for 29.95 euros without the switch package. With the switch package, the package costs 34.95 euros.
